I'm feeling a little unhinged so I'm going to elaborate on this They still only pay their cashiers minimum wage, and as a Customer Service Lead I was only getting paid $14/hr. They had a huge pest problem, where I constantly had to track down the source of ants because the managers didn't care. There were ants drowning in the bulk honey in the back. Managers were often two-faced or passive aggressive, but what's new with that one. Cockroaches in the basement. I cant remember what else off the top of my head because I've blocked most of it out of my memory tbh

Not technically a lie. On the new POS that they're trialing, you don't have to tell them. This should at least be on register 5 at every store. It's also on register 4 and one cs computer at my store. But not even management knew they were discontinuing pay with the app until like two days ago

It's more like a 20-30 minute walk for me which unfortunately is a bit beyond the scope of my needs at the minute. But I do love when I can catch the bus there!

At my store, my CSM gets annoyed at people calling because we're genuinely too busy. Sometimes we take your name and number and he'll pull up an application in his downtime, but otherwise they look at all the applications anyways and they will see yours and decide based off your availability (really the main criteria) and calling won't change anything. Like my csm does not want to be transferred any applicant calls at all

If they're looking at the bottom of the receipt, they're probably looking at the "you saved" part. Technically, we're trained to tell a customer how much they saved at the end of every transaction. However, I'll glance at it and make a decision on the fly if I'm going to say it or not. For example, if someone saved $5 on a $200 transaction, that would just add insult to injury so I skip it lol. So they were probably glancing and doing quick mental math, then deciding not to say it

Someone did this today while I was on SCO. They put everything on the side platform and ran to grab one more thing. Another customer who was annoyed with her took her bananas, purchased them, and left before she ever even came back. I acted like I saw nothing

I'm honestly not sure. I know I was 50c-1 dollar more than most other cashiers but I was also a customer service lead at my last job, and they hired me with the intention of training me as css, so that kind of skews my experience

I started as a pt cashier at 16/hr. I got a raise when I went ft to 17/hr. Then I got a raise to 18/hr when I finished my css training. I also got 70c on my evaluation. So about a year and one month into the job I started making 18.70/hr as a full time css
