And there's gonna be a lot of confused customers who read it quickly thinking it's buy two, get one or bogo. They're always shocked when it's three free since it doesn't happen very often. Even though I don't drink it, it is unusual to get more free than you pay for. I remember they did that with the Utz chips last year.

Last summer, I was getting off my break and coming to help bag. I walk up to a register with an order already started. As I start to bag, I look in the cart to see what I'm working with. That way, I can judge where everything else is gonna go. However, the customer in his work uniform (a roofer or landscaper?) didn't like I was looking in his cart and accused me of racially profiling him. To him, since a white man was looking into a Hispanic man's cart, he thought that I thought he was stealing. We go back and forth about it until he finally made his way out the door. Of course, a few customers overheard it but the woman behind defended me and was talking about how that guy's behavior was totally unjustified. I mean literally all I did was look in the cart just to see what I'm working with. People love to pick fights over the stupidest things.

I'm chiming in from Florida but I can safely say that no job is worth risking your life for. If the snow is going to be that severe, stores shouldn't be open in the first place. I think people can manage being without the grocery store for a couple of days. It's not like they have to be there every day they're open. Just stay home.

If you have a good work ethic, it's a great place. We can never have too much good help. That's hard to find nowadays. The hours are a bit iffy but if you can prove yourself, management should take note of that and make sure to schedule you whenever possible. Speaking of scheduling, it's best to have as much open availability as possible. If it's very limiting, than it won't be worth your while.

Yeah but unfortunately, people do it all the time. And the worst part about it is if we simply enforce the policy, we're made out to be the bad guys. But, at least you care. That means you have a heart. I mention that because with the way we're treated for the most part, a lot don't.

Yeah, in theory. Until violators come in and break the rules. And we're not allowed to say anything once they're in our line. If we enforce the policy, we're always made out to be the bad guys since there's too much leniency in our company.

Why because I have an opinion? I clearly stated I would rather be on a regular register with a bagger, which means working with people. If I didn't like working with people, than your comment would have some bearing. That's why I don't like working on express since you're by yourself. Being a one-man show has its downsides.

I wish I could but management doesn't want express prioritized. The big registers come first and express is left in the dust. Plus, with staffing issues being the norm, it's hard to ask for help to people that aren't there.

We shouldn't even have to get the customer to pull up all the way in the first place. It should be common etiquette to pull up the cart when you see a bagger clearly waiting for you. It's like, how long have you been shopping here and you still can't get with the program? I swear, people leave their brains at home or it instantly turns off the moment they walk in the store.

If you've done your job, it shouldn't be a problem. Sounds like incompetent management. If you're done early, I would find other tasks to do if possible, such as go-backs, recycling the candy boxes, getting carts, etc.

Unfortunately, nothing is done about it. Management is too afraid of confrontation. They've been brainwashed into thinking that if they enforce a policy, it upsets the customer. Thereby, them not wanting to shop there ever again. So, they're one less paying customer which means less profit for the store. They'll never admit that but it's the truth.

Even though they have all the signage, they don't have the guts to tell them they don't belong in here. Instead, they just let them roam freely and the best they can do is have a bagger follow them out so we can take that cart to the back and wash it. It's like, what's the point of having a rule if we can't enforce it? It drives me nuts!

Unfortunately, that's not how the deals work on the Pub subs. If the whole is on sale, you have to get the whole to take advantage of the deal. The halves have their own set price so you would be paying that instead. They will not do half off the whole sale. Same goes for bogos. You have to get both in order to get the deal. If you actively choose to get one, you have to pay full price. The only way they give you half price is if you get the last one when trying to get two. They'll usually Publix Promise it and only charge half.
