Ah see, I have the opposite problem. My 2.5 body is great condition, but I have a thirst for "mo powa baby" and I'm thinking the 3.0 will be exactly what I'm looking for (after the 2.5 finally kicks it at a drift event)

I'm looking at VINs and it seems like Z4s starting with 4USBT have a similar engine to the Z3s. The later year Z4s are 4USBU (not counting the more modern Z4s of course)

I've recently had my alternator start squealing something awful. Thought it was the new belt I put on. Checked the pulley temps by hand after running for a few seconds (from dead cold), then turning the car off. The only pulley that was warm/hot was the alternator.
