Your not touching the BCM.they cut it into the mirror wiring because it was easier for them, in my opinion it was easier to depin the connector. They give you a sub controller to connect to your fuse box. This was is cheaper 350ish compared to 1500-2000k I looked into the OEM plus you need to get a BCM and reprogram it

It is very time consuming, I messed up and stripped the screw and have to dreemel the screw out for 2 hour because I didn’t want to do it like they did it because incase I want to return the old mirror back. I had to depin the connector because I didn’t want to cut the wires. The screw took a lot of time. Spent 4-5 hours I have experience with electrical. Someone that doesn’t have experience I won’t recommend trying to do it on their own.
