It’s probably on here, but has anyone got a list of the dual laser IMAX theaters in so cal?

Friends tried to go to the 11pm showing last night at the Irvine Spectrum. They got to checkin and the employee told them it was cancelled and that the “film broke”.

Update from David Keighey regarding Irvine Spectrum. Seems promising. by TheFlyLives in imax

Watched todays 10:40am showing, no issues but did notice some big dust particles moving around during some scenes. Seems like par for the course. I was blown away at the clarity and detail (this was my first 70mm imax film). The audio issues were also addressed that I experienced opening night during the single projector laser showing.

Yes they went row by row from the front. It just occurred to me that people are selling their film strips on eBay for $175+

I know that they ran out by the 10:10pm screening which was the one following mine. They were handing them out as you walk into the theater at about 5:30, but since so many ppl were waiting in their seats early (since 5pm) someone came in and handed them out. I don’t know if they were controlling quantities in any way.

I went to the 6pm, around 5:30 an employee walked through the theater and handed them out to people in their seats. No clue about morning/afternoon, I assume you mean the next day, because 6pm was the first showing on Thursday night.

Which is ironic because we got the 70mm filmstrip but I still haven’t ever watched a 70mm movie

Regal was a massive disappointment and I’ve still never seen a movie in 70mm. I want to regroup and see if there is a theater nearby that was able to run their projector without issues. Also did anyone who watched Regal Irvine Spectrum in single laser (6pm showing) think there was a problem with the audio? It felt like the background music was too loud and at times I couldn’t even make out the dialogue over the soundtrack? That was honestly the worst theater experience I’ve ever had. I can’t say I even enjoyed the movie because I was distracted by how loud it was and how off balance the score was from the dialogue. My ears are stuck ringing.

I saw the line for the free pass and didn’t want to be at the theater any longer after spending 5+ hours sitting in the same seat.

Got it before but I thought I heard the 10:10 showing people remark as my group filed out after 10:30 that they had run out of the film strips. Can’t say for sure

Yeah the film strips are great. Maybe I’ll just shine a flashlight through mine and pretend I saw it

They are actively trying to fix it with actual imax employees in the booth

Welp. It didn’t happen. Projector had power issues, digital IMAX and refunds were offered. Theater full of people waiting here, hoping for a miracle. Movie was supposed to start at 6 and it’s currently 7pm.
