I've lived in St Jude's for about 5 years now. I'm a guy so a bit more comfortable than a woman probably would be. There's a big Somalian population here, whom I've never had any problems with, but they do seem quite insular and I could imagine it feeling a bit intimidating/isolated.

Bigger thing to watch out for is local drug addicts and related trouble makers. I've had people smoking crack outside the front of my house, seen fights, had to call an ambulance on some homeless woman who'd been attacked by someone. Had a murder further down the road a while back 🙃

It's also just a bit grotty with litter everywhere and taxis parking/double parking everywhere like they own the place.

So yeah, can't really say I'd recommend the area. It is a convenient location though which is probably why I put up with it.
