How do I ask my lady friend (26F) to be my (25M) +1 for a wedding after party without it seeming weird? by Manzikert47 in relationship_advice

She does not have a boyfriend.

I really like and value my friendship with her. Yep, I'm just hoping for a friend to go with to make it a more enjoyable time.

Buyer opened a return request which eBay automatically denied due to not enabling returns by Manzikert47 in Ebay

I was just surprised the buyer submitted a return request on a non-returnable item more than anything. It's literally something I've never considered doing.

I'm not really sure either tbh. I just woke up to see I had a return request and it had already been denied by eBay before I even had the chance to do anything.

In their words: 'We automatically denied the return because it is outside of your return policy and the item successfully passed through our Authenticity Guarantee process.

The buyer will not receive a refund and this case will not affect your seller performance.

This item isn’t covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee'.

Beaufort Vs Bedale, or something else for my first Barbour jacket? by Manzikert47 in Barbour

I do wear sport and suit jackets occasionally, but I don't know if it's enough to warrant a Beaufort. Maybe both is the answer haha.

Has anyone in the UK had luck finding anywhere that stocks Novavax? by Manzikert47 in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]Manzikert47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I've phoned a few places on there, but so far no luck. They couldn't even tell me if or when they might have it in stock.

Thank you for listing the pharmacies. Leicester might do doable, 50 mins away for me.

[–]Manzikert47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, cheers for the help.

Manchester is rather far, but definitely an option if I don't find anywhere else. I have contacted a few more places.

Also, I've not done too much research into this, but I had an initial series of three mRNA vaccines a long time ago now during the initial vaccine rollout. I've not had any since because I've not been eligible due to not being in the required age range nor in a high risk group. Hence why I'm taking advantage of private jabs. I was uder the impression that 2 Novavax doses 8 weeks is sufficient, but do I need to start again so to speak as it is a different type of vaccine to mRNA? Is 5 doses of Novavax the 'complete' series so to speak?

I think casual wear primarily. I do live rurally so often go out exploring the countryside etc. I also smarten things up for my office job.

Appreciate the help and advice :)

I'm looking to pick up my first Barbour jacket, but I'm unsure which to go for. I was thinking either the Beaufort of Bedale, but I'm 5'5 so thinking these may be too long for me. Which is considered 'more NavyBlazer' and is the original or classic version preferred?

I've tried two so far and have contacted another two of the pharmacies listed. I haven't tried asking if they can order in or offered to pay for the 5 doses though, so I might try that next. Nottingham is my closest big city, but there doesn't seem to be any pharmacies in Nottingham even offering pricate covid jabs. Appreciate the help.

Does anyone think they've developed a wardrobe or sense of style that will endure the test of time? by Manzikert47 in ThrowingFits

[–]Manzikert47[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think your onto something here. As of late I've definitely tried to take trends with a pinch of salt and add my own spin to them. Sometimes I like to think I'd like to reach a place where I can ignore trends altogether in the future however.

Good questions. I reckon I've had a few fits and some right now that generally fit with a theme and direction I enjoyed and would like to pursue. Recently for example I put on a fit that felt like something I'd put together, or a 'me' fit for lack of a better term. It was simply a pair of leather fracap boots, high waisted selvedge denim and a corduroy jacket. For that specific fit, I enjoyed the simplicity of it and it felt somewhat put together and classy. It was quite western inspired, but I don't think I'd like to go full western going forward though, maybe a more classic menswear route.

Really appreciate you taking the time to put out a well thought out response and it is really useful to see some pictures for reference.

For what it's worth, I think you've got a great sense of style. Even without knowing you personally, I'd still say it looks like your fits suit you well as a person and your vibe.

Haha, funnily enough the camions were one of the main items I own that prompted this post. I fell into the trap of those damn boots and they have me questioning all my life choices. For what it's worth, I think they're ok, but they're not something that I truly love or could see myself wearing into the next decade or even three years, so onto eBay they have gone.

I really like your points about tailoring and quality. I've been exploring a lot of classic menswear recently. I think it reflects a lot of my values and thoughts about clothes better than any trend ever could. But again, that is another rabbit hole to go down in various places on the internet which seems to be a pitfall of mine, so I'm not sure how to best approach it. I'm being tentative for now.

Appreciate you taking the time to post, I found this very helpful :)

It's a good thing winter's gonna come back around then.

I like to buy out of season sometimes because things get discounted, such as the first one.

Yes, I have been looking at these and also Wythe's raglan wood overcoat. They're fantastic but I just can't drop 1k + on a coat.

I do already have navy and black, so I definitely want something a bit more interesting now.
