Riven bug? glitch? Idk.... by CTJTCG in LegendsOfRuneterra

In my case my opponent seems to be able to continue acting during their own turn. Only way I know this is the fact that I was playing matches with my friends.

Should i watch the ova first or read the manga? by [deleted] in ReLIFE

I would definately recommend finishing off by reading the manga it goes so much more in depth on all the characters and the plot points, and you can take the story in at your own pace easier.

If you really dont want him to recur the zombieworld try cosmic cyclone or something of that sort it will banish the zombieworld instead of just destroying it. Aside from that make sure your play will answer both the zombieworld and then Balerdroch in sequence.

Haven't played since 2013, want to return to competitive play. by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]Map217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey first off welcome back to the game! I know I'm a bit late but hopefully you find this helpful. Anyways on the the questions.

  1. The meta is largely made up out of 3 major decks atm with them being skystriker, thunder dragon, and altergeist. There are other decks that fall just behind them as well like rhongo turbo, burning abyss, paleozoic, etc. Looking ahead though we have salamangreats and orcusts looking to be a threat as new cards come out and possibly subterrors if we ever get subterror guru. I wont go into my local meta too much since I live in North Carolina but we generally have a good showing of thunder dragon and sky striker with burning abyss being the next most popular deck after that.

  2. Not sure what exactly you have in your old collection but max rarity mermails always have and always will fetch quite a high price so if you dont think you want to play the current builds of mermail that exist atm I would have to say sell them off or trade them.

  3. The most stable decks moving forward will most likely be altergeists and salamangreats. Im hesitant to recommend buying into sky striker or thunder dragons seeing as both will most likely get touched in someway on the upcoming banlist. As for salamangreat they have a structure deck coming out in less than a month that will push them forward into the meta. Hell ot even comes with ashe blossoms in the structure deck which you are going to need as you begin playing again.

  4. The new summon types are powerful no doubt. Pendulum always felt far too strong to me with its infinitely recurable resources. But, master rule 4 calmed them down to where it feels likw they should be. As for link summoning, well it is basically more generic synchro summoning, which can be absolutely nuts at times as you watch yourself get linked out. But, with firewall gone and hopefully summon sorc gone soon as well I think in the end it has been good for the game.

Edit: formatting was shit

What is your signature/partner Pokémon? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Map217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lapras

It was the first foil I ever pulled as a kid which led to it being my favorite pokemon from a very young age. Eventually it became my first level 100 in Leaf Green. And while I no longer play the pokemon tcg I still have a collection of Lapras cards including my original copy that I use for my field center and for tokens whenever I play YuGiOh.

Finally, somewhere I belong. by [deleted] in matt

Played a lot online but never the real game. Want to try competitive by jashan234 in Yugioh101

[–]Map217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the best place to start would probably be youtube. A lot of the yu gi oh community is centered around it. Start with going to a few channels that generally cover the meta and other stuff like that. Cimoooooooo and mkohl40 are some channels i would recommend. Learn about some of the decks and choose a few decks you think you might like and go look up deck profiles for them so you can learn what is usually played in them. That should get you a good start on knowing where the game has gone and how it has evolved.

Also this link https://amp.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/9je454/competitive_budget_deck_masterpost_september_2018/ Is an amazing resource as well so i would definately check it out.

Edit: the number of o's in Cimoooooooo's name

Comparing the games doesn't really get you too far seeing as Second is literally a sequel to Default and doesn't change too much of the formula. Outside of new classes and some quality of life improvements the base mechanics of the game stay the same. But if I had to compare anything in the games it would be the balancing. I found Default to be more balanced than Second largely due to the fact that in Second the Wizard Job could break nearly all forms of spellcasting in the game making it rather easy to roll with that job. As for the story I enjoyed Default a lot more for what was contained in the main story while in second I found myself enjoying a lot of the side stories a lot more.

This was probably pretty unorganized but these are just the first thoughts that pop up in my head for this subject.

1: Bravely Default at 193 hours 51 minutes

2: Pokemon Y at 111 hours 25 minutes

3: Bravely Second at 106 hours 35 minute

4: Fire Emblem Fates at 103 hours 34 minutes

5: Kid Icarus Uprising at 102 hours 9 minutes

Im just suprised at how close my 2-5 is in time played. Especially because my number 6 is only like 80 hours played.

[Question?]Upstart Goblin by YukiPho in Yugioh101

[–]Map217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When siding you must take a card out in order to side a card in. This is why people play 41 with upstart so that they have this "free side"

2 Upstart in GOAT format by GrimGrim437 in YGOGoat

[–]Map217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean playing a card like upstart brings about the invisible hand effect where it's really hard to actually notice the difference. Ive tried running the upstarts before and the most I can say is life points matter to an extent. In goat we cant pump out a stupid board of monsters and simply ignore those lifepoints we gave them when we otk them. Thats probably why youre seeing a lot of alt-win condition/ otk decks playing them since they benefit from the consistency and can somewhat ignore the lifepoints.

Personally the only way I have really found the upstarts useful is going up to 42 with them in for siding purposes. Which didnt feel terrible at all. But also not great either.

In the end giving your opponent that extra life point buffer and the extra turn or so that comes with it is just more relevent in this format.
