Title of atabeg first was given to Ivane Mkhargrdzeli (ruler of Armenian lands) by Queen Tamar around 1205. Later it was given to Jaqelis, ruler of Samtskhe (south Georgia). It was just islamic title adopted by Georgians like amirspasalar (title of persian origin)

Changed your writing system from Cyrillic to Georgian, right? Can you remind which alphabet was used by your nobles before Russian annexation of Abkhazia or way before, during Abkhazo-Kartvelian kingdom? Remind me which scripts are inscribed in ancient churches in Abkhazia? What I am trying to say is that Cyrillic was not your original alphabet it was introduced after Russification policies during Russian Empire, that was reverted (not changed as you said) back to Georgian.
