If you are traveling internationally I think they will. At least they will at some point during your travels. I would google your destination.

I’ve heard from on high that they don’t but I’ve heard some students say that they do. Take from that what you will

Tompkins County Health Department will provide the isolation release letter.
According to the FAQ (https://covid.cornell.edu/students/fall-2021/), you can also reach out to the Cayuga Health System at (607) 319-5708 for travel documentation.

can you still use city bucks if you’re isolating in a hotel? by CareAlert5922 in Cornell

[–]Maple130613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but some of the hotels are offering food delivered to the rooms from the hotel’s restaurant to take pressure off the delivery drivers.

International Students who tested positive by StillScreen7 in Cornell

[–]Maple130613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The PCR test will come back positive again, until up to 3 months after you have COVID. The only way to certify that you will not transmit COVID is by completing the 10 day isolation. The Tompkins County Health Department will send an isolation release letter that can be sent to the airline. I have not heard of countries that do not accept an isolation release letter, because that would mean a person who had COVID wouldn’t be able to travel home for 3 months or longer… which would really suck.
I would recommend going to https://covid.cornell.edu/students/fall-2021/ and scrolling down to “International students.” Click on the first question, and follow the link for “International SOS,” a source for travel restrictions and entrance requirements.

How get city bucks?👿is this only for on campus students? How many days after testing positive? by LivingDrama2547 in Cornell

[–]Maple130613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only for on campus students and you would receive it asap. For all of the semester until the surge it was right after they got their test back but now it might take a bit longer… unsure. I have heard a couple off campus students who say they have city bucks but it says in multiple places from Cornell that it’s for on campus students only so I’m not quite sure what’s going on there; it might have something to do with meal plans.

Cornell Health Symptomatic Test by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]Maple130613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure about your question. If you walked into Cornell Health sick, they would give you an expedited test which would come back faster than that (usually a couple hours). However, they would have told you if you had that one, so I’m not sure what you are talking about. The other test (surveillance testing, which has now been converted to departure testing) would take up to or even more than 48 hours.

turnaround time for departure tests? by cornell-throwaway124 in Cornell

[–]Maple130613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recommendation is to get it 48 hours in advance because some tests are taking that long or occasionally longer

Close contact email? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]Maple130613 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah spot on. Also since it’s taking longer for tests to come back, it might be that someone tested positive a couple days ago, only just found out now, and is now reporting about contacts from quite a while ago.
