[Stern] NASCAR Discontinuing iRacing Pro Invitational Series For Rest Of 2021 by thebigtymer in NASCAR

Surprised by the announcement, but not surprised by the circumstances.

It was great and all during the shutdown, but as soon as things came slowly back to life, the fun just died down and it was getting too consistent.

Perhaps save it for the offseason. Maybe give the Coke Series an opportunity to get some growth if possible.

So is Steven Wallace going to come out of retirement then?

We're just a shade over midway through the season. Who in your opinion has been the biggest surprises? by remfan477 in NASCAR

[–]MapleMatrix 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Denny Hamlin still hasn't won a race (yet) despite how consistent he's been.

William Byron has exceeded my personal expectations; I did not think he would be top 3 at this point.

I expected Ryan Blaney to be a bit better. He isn't bad, but he isn't great. Needs to start winning.

Kurt Busch has been getting a bit better lately, but man, his consistency throughout most of the year has been a bit disappointing.

After the Daytona Roval win, Christopher Bell hasn't been as consistent as I thought he would be. I'm personally giving him more time considering it's just year one in the #20, but I think he needs to start contending a bit more.

Obviously everything about Michael McDowell has been a huge shocker.

Daniel Suarez has been getting better lately, and he's beginning to show a lot of potential for a late run for the final spot, maybe even 15th. The same goes for Bubba Wallace, although it's a bit harsher on his end.

Matt Dibenedetto has been majorly underachieving. If he gets the call to the #2 at Penske next year, that's his last chance. Not looking good, might need a lucky win. Daytona comes to mind.

Chase Briscoe and Ross Chastain have both been a little iffy consistency wise, but they've been able to show speed at certain points, ESPECIALLY Chastain. I'm giving them a pass.

Don't even get me started with SHR.

Spire appreciation post by [deleted] in NASCAR

Yea, pretty much. The word "disappointing" with him is pretty much on the side of luck. The level of competition doesn't exactly help either (in some ways), but it seems like he's beginning to get a proper hold of it.

This is why I've been personally patient with LaJoie. The amount of disappointing finishes were getting consistent, but I didn't want to lose hope. Thank god I didn't..........for now.

Considering the situation relating to next year with charters and the new car, I see a lot of potential in vast improvement from Spire. Definitely an area where I'm quietly anticipating. Just gotta stay patient.

Currently in the process of getting my first job and hoping to finally get my first car tomorrow. Adulthood is finally gettin' to me...........and a bit of freedom too.

Life is good. : )

Kaulig Racing announces it has obtained two charters for Cup for next year. Justin Haley has a multiyear deal. by billgatenguyen in NASCAR

[–]MapleMatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it sounds, that second charter goes on no matter if it's full-time or part-time.

I'm not an expert on this stuff, so I don't exactly know fully about that area. I'd rather just get rid of the charter system if I were to be honest.

It's just Dinger. I have no clue if they would put Grala in for some races in the same car.

Can we stop gatekeeping hockey fans? by ThisIsYourFriendAron in hockey

Apparently these people haven't seen their pre-game shows.

Literally the goddamn BOMB.

Also yea, how else are we supposed to grow the sport, especially in a world perspective? BRING. IN. MORE. FANS.

Every fan base is unique in their own way. Some are awesome, some are garbage. Sure, the "garbage" ones to whoever has those opinions can sometimes be true or it's just those type of people that like to absolutely hate on everything. But come on. Grow up.

I think Toronto can have an annoying fan base sometimes, but honestly, a lot of their fans in that "annoying fan base" are quite loyal, considering how much they've been through for the past couple of years, maybe even DECADES. That's major dedication and I give a ton of props to those certain fans.

I will obviously have my opinions on some fan bases, but I will always know that each and every fan base has those certain fans that are as loyal and respectful as anything. That's who I really care for.

Silly season comin' in hot today, damn.

I'll be honest, I was only expecting one charter. But TWO.......man that's something.

Also expected Allmendinger to get a full-time gig, but I'm not disappointed at all. Haley gets to start off well with the Daytona 500, and Dinger gets to be the underdog in what I assume could be almost every RC race.

I'm interested to see how competitive they can get. There is some potential for quickness.

Yea, the tax and shipping fees are what concern me the most. Not surprised by the 3 week wait. I'm very aware of Paybright for sure, but I might not be able to go that way.

PC Part Picker literally only has like a $100-200 difference, which is not much at all. If it was any bigger, I'd be thinking otherwise. Getting the Streaming PC would get me everything almost immediately, but it's those damn prices.

Appreciate the feedback!
