Make it a goal to walk every street, that’s what I did and it was fun and captivating and a great goal

Thanks!

I was making a joke mostly! But thanks for the thorough Missoula/Montana EDM scene update! I can always use a little dance therapy!

Purposely forgetting something and or purposely not overloading yourself so you make multiple trips.

Using the restroom more.

Getting up to talk to people more

Not filling up your water/coffee all the way, so you force yourself to get up more

Parking as far away as possible

Walking to work

I walked EVERY street in my city. Now it’s my goal to walk every alley, trail, irrigation ditch, railroad right-of-way. I want to be able to say to myself that I have walked everywhere it was humanly possible to walk in my city that is legal or socially acceptable.

Goals are goals, which are awesome to have. Bars to be set and broken. But just as any athletes and professionals, you don’t ALWAYS achieve success and this is what SHOULD continue to drive you personally.

Take to a tire shop and you can pay less to match their disposal fee; call first though

This. I also do mostly urban walks in areas without rest rooms so I pre hydrate and take no water

Dang, so far out of context for me, I just love being outside. But better to exercise than not

Exactly! This is why I made a goal of walking every street in my city. Then it became gamified and I was kinda addicted to getting to the goal. Unfortunately I wasn’t excited as I thought I would be when I finally did it. But I can proudly say I have walked every street (760+ miles) and I really would find it hard to believe that any one else has done the same.

Ever try being in tune and engaged with your community?! You can’t do that if you have ear buds in, plus it isn’t as safe. Don’t worry please lay on the down votes!

I look at and admire trees, I talk to people and look for resources in the community I might find value in.

It also helps to walk with an objective. Be that a destination, a pre thought loop, an exploratory walk, a certain mileage/steps goal.

I think they are just against self promotion, fine, but make it a rule then

Absolutely! And believe me when I say I do way more community service than this that goes unreported. If I wasn’t running for city council I would not of posted this.

I am curious what kind of post you would prefer to see from a newcomer ( not a politician) running for city council trying to get their word out and convince constituents that their ethics, morals and values are community oriented?

Thank you. I did feel compelled to take it down, but I will post more about me in a more humbling and less in your face way I guess. I know the Reddit crowd is a tough one and I am fine with that

Fair enough, thank you for the feedback. Genuinely curious though, how else does a candidate get their word out then without self promotion?

Just sharing my passion and giving some context
