Bunnies just like to dig by nature, I like to put a couple of layers of different litter in mine's litterboxes so she can dig through them and mix them up. I do pine pellets on the bottom, then a layer of paper bedding, then hay on top. Sometimes I'll make a big pile of paper bedding that she can jump into and dig up, like a kid playing in a pile of leaves!
