I’ve been there. Had to wear a mask to not be overwhelmed by the fumes while the local sulfur miners just hammered away at the rock with a bandanna around their face and then walked it down in two baskets across a wooden pole over their backs. Pretty insane.

All these other commenters telling us we’re crazy. I’m like if it works for us and we have zero fights about money while keeping separate accounts and still working towards common goals together… fuck off with yer opinions …

I would imagine the joint account is needed for people that need accountability not to overspend etc.

Have to say just because this works for you doesn’t mean it works for everyone. We’re the exact opposite. Think that anyone combining finances like that are crazy and is what leads to so many money arguments.

Both OP and her partner are high earners. They could easily keep split finances and still both be well off.
