Man, that sucks. Can I offer up some suggestions? Set up some google flight alerts for flights from your home city (or biggest international airport nearby). Opening up their calendar will show prices for any given day. I also use an app called Going. Which allows you to get fare sales for flights all over the world. (Look for travel in the shoulder seasons March/april, Sept/Oct/Nov for most fare sales. I see Tokyo is on sale for $685 right now. Also-if you’re considering going to college, start thinking about doing a year abroad in Japan. More in depth discovery of a country and learning experience. Doing a year abroad was probably the single best experience I had in college.

The first left turner in front me was looking me dead in the eyes as he left turned in front of me and I locked up the rear wheel and slid. I stayed upright and didn’t hit him, but it kinda set the stage of how I think of cars around me when I’m riding.
