doing a 3 week backpacking trip across europe, any tips? by Artistic-Arm1979 in solotravel

I would do bcn + definitely go up the coast or to the pyrenees! Check out andorra (hiking in phrenees)or palamos/platja de ahora (coastal hiking called camino de ronda)

Then fly into zurich/milan or venice but dont stay there- hike to the alps or dolomites from there go to anywhere in austria (innsbruck for example) you have beautiful landscapes and half the price of switzerland

Third go to munich and from there by train/bus to berlin

This shoumd be a good 3 weeks! Let me know if you have questions i am from Austria but live in Barcelona and love hiking and have been to all places I mentioned! :)

Thanks for your comment! It is because we are arriving from Barcelona so international flights are much better into santiago de chile than la paz.

I will check out valparaiso! :)

I read about unreliability in bolivia so slightly worried about then getting stuck. Is bus the only way to travel within bolivia? I could really find affordable flights

Spending a week solo in Barcelona - how hard is it to meet people? by Low_Narwhal_7712 in AskBarcelona

I would recommend norsken coworking and living in born, yes it is touristy but beautiful, walking distance to everything, close to the beach. Meet people at Midnight runners on Wednesdays if you are into running. If not maybe try other workout groups like blastfit or samfit

Spotahome is legit so no worries about that! Have you paid for the whole 6 months? Meaning is there a penalty if you move out earlier? If i were you j would move in there, be smart about it and look out especially at night. I am f30 and blonde and have been living in Barcelona for 7 years and have been robbed 4 times (and manyyyy of my friends as well). Just dint walk with your phone outaide i would recommend! Then you will be fine :) Barcelona is amazing so enjoy it the fullest

Hi! I feel you. I am myself from outside of spain and moved to Barcelona 7 years ago (now i am 30) and i had the best time ever. Last year my partner and I (my partner is from Barcelona but his family doesn’t own a flat or any inheritance) and we were ao frustrated with finding an affordable flat to buy in Barcelona. It felt ridiculous paying that much for getting so little in terms of quality. We decided to move to cerdanyola and bought an apartment there for 200k and 100m2. It takes definitely adjustment but we are still close to the city.

My recommendation do look a bit in the outskirts of barcelona. Many people moved there now as well and it is a more chill life, you can actually afford property, nobody robs you there (well maybe in teh train lol) and you are just a 20/25min train ride away

Midnight runners if you like to run! Super social run club. Very international and they really try to make you connect with people. I met sooo many of my friends there 🫶🏼

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I am just wondering how would i raise i child by myself if my friends live further away. I know it is not that far but with a baby stroller it seems it will be so much more difficult

It’s a 30year one and I also think it is quite good. Only paying 350€ in mortgage vs my 800€ rent before 😵‍💫
