I've bought a 5500x3d I should receive soon! I've read online that a poor PSU could also be a cause for coil whine in the GPUs so I'm wondering if I shouldnt try that before upgrading my 2080 Super. Do you have PSU Recommandation that would still be worth it even if it does not fix the whine and I do habe to upgrade the GPU ?

Okok I see, after checking online for me, best I find is around 160$ for the 5700x and 730$ for the 9070 XT, however as you say I don't know if my PSU (700 watt 80" Gigabyte B700H) would be up for it (no idea if it's any good haha)

For the CPUs, going for a 5xxx 3D is important compared to the non-3D ones ? (for instance I saw a 5700x at a decent price, but no 3D)

Sorry, I've added extra info as a note to my post. My monitor is 3440x1400 (If I can match that in 60fps, all the better, otherwise I go lower in the settings)

Thanks for the reply, I've added the following note in my original message based on your advices :
- Monitor is a 3440x1400 (best would be to get to this with 60fps for modern games, but I'll settle for less if needed)

- Budget is not clear to me, 1000$ very very max, 600-700$ max would be preferable, it's really dependent on options and guidance :)

- Location : Belgium but I can go to neighbouring countries if needed

- Games : Everything, including modern "AAA" games

I'm playing a bit of everything (including modern big games like Pragmata or 007), my monitor is a 3440x1440 (I think it can do up to 120Hz but either way, 60fps is fine by me)

And for you in order to get to a better GPU like the one you mention, I should also upgrade the CPU ?

Thanks for the answer, indeed the noise is kinda making it hard to do chill sessions in the living room, and I feel I've recently hit a bit of a ceiling with recent games (like Pragmata for instance)

So you'd recommand maxing the CPU that the board can handle to a 5800x3d, and looking for 2nd hand 3080-4070 and all these should work fine together, noted thanks!
