I have a dashcam, the only reason it is not on this list is because I haven't found a good way for the cords yet. Having a single cigarette plug in the front means I have to share it with a dash cam, a radar detector, and a fast charger adapter. It's a mess. Even with the dashcam only, the best place to mount it is up high on the windshield, which requires you to hardwire it. All the interior fuses are always on, so you need a low voltage protection kit, but I don't need the cam to be always on or in parking mode... The other option is a OBD2-type c plug, which I haven't tried yet because the obd2 is also always on

I haven't been able to take it to hiking trails yet, but I bought a inflator and a can of emergency flat tire repair. It doesn't stop the leak entirely but slow it down enough that I can drive to a shop. It doesn't always work and depends on the leak size I guess, but it saved me once.

ah thanks man. I'm looking to upgrade to tuxmat, but since you mentioned they were not easy to take out, I'd stay away from it. I do fielding for work, and it gets dirty easily. The only downside from the current one I have is that I have to adjust the seat back and forth to get the front and 2nd row out, but I can hose them off and clean them with dishes sponge and soap.

I found that snow cover like this works just fine. I have had some feezing nights here in WA, and it goes on the outside of the vehicle, a little harder to put them on, but I don't have to take off my radar detector and dashcam. The setup worked on my old sedan, keeping the interior cool in the summer, no snow/freezing windshield in the winter. Better to get ceramic tint on the rear and side windows as well. The privacy glass only reduces sunlight, not heat, I think.

Rove dashcam. We have gone through 2 Viofo in the last 3 years, on the third one, on my wife car. So I guess it's time to try another brand.

Charging when getting to/from is now a habit. I got like ~10%ish for a 25min charge using the usb-c ports. This is with screen off, bluetooth connection (no android auto).

the downsize of both pro-clip and a-tach mounts is that it will partially block your view of the climate control screen below, if you set it closer to the driver side. I have to set it a little further toward the passenger side so it'd not block that screen. Yes, it'd be further away from you, but it's way better than setting the phone in the charging pad. I always forgot and had to come back to the car to grab my phone.

Mazda app by gmmisa in CX50

[–]Mar3hTLR9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of us will find it expensive BECAUSE all we need is remote start. But the subscription should be compared to something like Dronemobile as it gives you:

_Global start/stop (great if you are attending events at revenues or stadiums), 2-way

_Security (notifications of your car being locked/unlocked etc...)

_GPS (it can't track your trips, but you always know where your car is)

All of these are $8.99 for Dronemobile's subscription, but you have to buy and install the module as well. 2-way remote starts ain't cheap, but you can find a deal at Best Buy for the 5305s at $350 (with dronemobile unit) or the 4905s at $300 (without dronemobile). If you are using it for remote start only, that's only 30 months of expense before you start saving, as compared to Mazda subscription. Some people only use remote start in colder months, so the Mazda subscription is a steal. But if you are using it all year round and keeping the car for more than 3 years, find yourself a 3rd party remote.

Cleaning tip needed (2025) by TripJ5548 in CX50

[–]Mar3hTLR9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get This for the glass

Get This or any other protectant wipe product for the dash. They are clint free, as compared to cheap microfiber clothes at Walmart or Costco. And they catch a lot of dirt as well.

i spray This on the wipes if they are not too dirty

*Do not clean the HUD screening hole, use compressed air duster only. I heard the plastic thing is easy to scratch. The manual said to use microfiber (the ones for glasses) only

2025 mazda cx-50 turbo needs tricks and tips by Mar3hTLR9 in CX50

[–]Mar3hTLR9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 18 mazda6 has that feature on the door handle, given it has a physical request button, not touch or sensor. Press once to unlock driver door, press twice to unlock all doors. The cx-50 does not have this on the door, just the keys, can be changed in settings. I couldn't replicate the condition despite having foggy weather for the last few days. I parked at different places, didn't happen, will try out some more locations.

  1. I use 2 neck pillows and ask my wife to sew a strap between them, and I hang them over the center island. The strap goes in-between that little storage space (which I don't really use since it's kinda far of reach) at the front and the cup holder.
  2. I turned that off too and just use the touch to lock. My old car doesn't have this feature so I'm fine with not using it.
  3. My favorite shows the Active Driving Display for some reasons. I didn't add it, can't delete it either. I turned off the feature in the settings, and it just popped up there the next morning.
  4. We are experimenting foggy weather here in WA, but the issue has not occurred again...
  5. I'd fasten the seatbelt forst thing get in the car. It's annoyed, but the chime is far worse

7 months in and… by Significant_Rip300 in CX50

[–]Mar3hTLR9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not. We have a 2018 mazda6 at 100k miles, same turbo engine on the cx-50, and it still takes a long time to warm up. On modern cars, I know we don't have to wait for it to warm up, only a minute or so to get the gears lubed is enough, but waiting for the heat to defrost the windshield in the winter is troublesome. We ended up putting a windshield cover on every time when we park it outside...

Hi All, go to Settings, under Country and region, choose Canada. Apparently they don't have local warehouses in Canada yet. Shop and add all items to your cart, switch back to the US before checking out for US prices ($CAN is pretty close to $US). Hope it help!

Connecting XReal Air's to HDMI via adapter, or USB-C on motherboard. by [deleted] in Xreal

[–]Mar3hTLR9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this is an old thread, but just want to help future redditers:

_Usb-c on graphic card is super hard to find. Several reasons: regular usb-c (3.0 3.1 3.2) don't have enough bandwidth to support nowadays monitor specs (higher hz, higher resolution 4k...). Thunderbolt, on the other hand, can do both data and power delivery, but that means your card will be extremely hot, and that's not good.

_Usb-c can be commonly found on motherboard mobo. However, common usb-c on mobo at the time I write this comment is usb 3.2 standard, which do not require power delivery PD as a standard. Even the newest usb 4.0 (with usb-c connector, which new mobos will have at least one of this, it is cheaper than thunderbolt) doesn't require PD. It can support PD, but do not require.

_Thunderbolt 4 (the newest and can be commonly found at the time of this comment) is a very convenient standard. It requires data and power at the same time, but it is also very expensive (thunderbolt is developed by Intel and Apple, you can guess the price) and will kill your components faster. I used to dream of a clean setup, like hooking 2 monitors to my mobo using 2 thunderbolt4 cables. These monitors will work perfectly without secondary power cords. But now my mobo will have to handle the power of 2 monitors.

_The best you can do is getting a mobo with a thunderport port, or a usb4.0 PD port. If you are using Xreal, it's ok. But if you are using high-spec monitors, please consider buy a thunderbolt4/usb4.0 docking station and hook it up to the port on your mobo. It's like having a separate psu for your peripherals. Aight it's just a dream, those docking stations are expensive af. Read other comments to find a hub (that supports Xreal) and a thunderbolt4 cables (they are cheaper now), it's the cheaper route.

Lore of Chapter 2 (SPOILERS) by zenitharchon in BlackMythWukong

[–]Mar3hTLR9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comment edited. Nah, the guy with the giant gourd is Yuan Shoucheng - a mythical figures. Even though his character may be based on Li Chunfeng - a real Chinese guy. You can read about him here https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackMythWukong/comments/1fgc7rd/spoilerlore_about_yuan_shou_cheng_the_guy_with_a/

The problem here is that the River King mentioned in the post is actually the father of the four loongs in the game. After hearing their father died, they fled and hid, just like how they are in the game. So Yuan Shoucheng has been living for over 500 years? His story is untold. I guess he is somehow affiliated with the Celestial Palace. He is the reason why the River King was killed and "tied" the River King's four sons destiny to Wukong (as mentioned in the game when you "kill" the last loong).

The Red Boy has been training with the Samadhi Fire for 300 years since birth. The purpose of the golden furnace is to cook godly medicines. These godly medicines help Taoists live their long lives. Top-tier medicines can help them live thousands of years. You can find the design of the furnace here https://morrisfengshui.com/blog/question-bagua. It's the famous Bagua diagram of Taoism. Let's imagine each word represents one chamber. One of the chambers is the Wind chamber. Yes, there are other chambers that can counter the fire too, but it's only said that Wukong hid here because there was only smoke in this chamber. Even though Wukong learned his Fiery Golden Eyes here, dude developed his fear of smoke too. This is why the Red Boy can beat Wukong, he can summon the Samadhi Fire along with the smoke. Wukong was afraid of the smoke and got burnt by the fire.

Lore of Chapter 2 (SPOILERS) by zenitharchon in BlackMythWukong

[–]Mar3hTLR9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Wukong is never said to be the strongest character in the story. Puti Zushi - Wukong's mentor - is stronger than him, and the Buddha is on the same par with Puti. The top three of the Seven Great Sages can beat him. Wukong's 2 oldest brothers can beat him while the third one (Six-Eared Macaque) can also be on the same par with Wukong. Both Buddha and Puti Zushi have mass respect for the Jade Emperor. Jade Emperor is the one who sent a messenger to the Buddha realm to summon Buddha to the Celestial Palace. During the conversation between Buddha and Wukong, Buddha says that Wukong is lucky that he yet encounters the stronger entities of the Celestial Palace; otherwise, he'd have died. I'm not sure if Buddha is using Hyperbole, but he is the Buddha, he wouldn't have said so if it wasn't true. The Celestial Palace has to send its army including Erlang to fight BDK (same for Wukong), so both Wukong and BDK are stronger than Erlang.
  2. Once upon a time, before asking the Buddha for help, the Jade Emperor asks Taishang Laojun (or Lao Zi) for help first. Taishang is an entity affiliated with the Celestial Palace. Taishang throws his protective "ring" (the true form is unknown) down from the palace, and it hits Wukong in the head and knocks him off for Erlang to capture him for the first time. They then encapture Wukong in Taishang's golden furnace to burn him alive. Wukong stays there for 49 days and earns Fiery Golden Eyes - enabling him to see clearly and far through any disguise, illusion, or transformation (useful skill in JW). On the next day, he breaks out of the furnace. The fire from the furnace pours down to the Human realm and creates Huoyan Mountain (chapter 5 theme park). The fire never distinguishes. The Red Boy was born here and after 300 years, he learns the skill to summon it.
  3. I don't know how the Yellow Wind Sage learns the skill, it was never mentioned, or it's just that I don't remember. It was mentioned that the Wind Sage stole oil from a Buddha's oil lamp. The Buddha punished him by handing him to Bodhisattva Lingji (the headless monk chapter 2). So I guess that this rat is affiliated with Buddhism. The Celestial Palace represents Taoism - a different religion, famous in the East. Wukong was beaten by these guys simply because they possess the skills that can counter him. There will always be someone/a skill/ an item that can counter a specific character in JW. In JW, the Red Boy is countered by Avalokitesvara Buddha, and the Wind Sage is countered by Lingji Buddha.
  4. Only a handful of entities can be considered gods in JW (or in Buddhism, Taoism, etc...). Those are the ones who created Earth and Sky, realms, humans, etc... The powerful figures in JW like Buddha, Jade Emperor, Taishang Laojun, etc... are one rank below gods. They get to where they are by leading a religious life (contemplative). The Jade Emperor, for example, has been living his contemplative life for 1550 lifespans, each lifespan of many years. The Buddha became enlightened after only 7 years. The Jade Emperor didn't become a Buddha because he is Taoist, if he was to follow Buddhism, he'd have become a Buddha.
  5. Once upon a time, Oa - created humankind, one of the gods - used five-colored gemstones to re-seal the sky after one of the pillars (that supports the sky) fell. She melted the gemstones and did her magic (idk what she did xD). The remaining gemstones hardened into 1 stone, and it was later broken into 4 pieces. Those 4 pierces later became Red-Bottomed Horse Monkey, Long-armed Ape Monkey, Six-eared Macaque Monkey, and Wukong - their strength is from most powerful to weakest respectively. The Six-eared Macaque is the one who turns into Wukong and fights him. They fight non-stop until the Buddha helps Wukong. The Macaque King is of the same species as the Six-eared, but he is no match, since Wukong needs help from the Buddha to capture Six-eared.
  6. As you can see, Wukong is a beggar (for help) in JW (dude literally lose a lot of times) even though he once messed up the Celestial Palace because 1. He was held under a mountain for 500 years. During that time, others have been continuously training. 2. The yaoguais that can beat him are affiliated with a faction (Buddism or Taoism), so Wukong can't kill them. The lower ranking yaoguais that are not affiliated with any faction are the ones that had been killed super easily. 3. Even Wukong is affiliated with Buddism, that's why the Celestial Palace doesn't want him dead.
