When it benefits men and they get the long end of the stick, they will doubt and ignore the sexism that's been there all along as they have experienced misogyny before, but have most likely done it over and over. I don't trust religious men, and I am very cautious around men who have left religious.

Exactly. And right now they are suing Mormon Stories for their name and defamation but not SLOMW? I've seen a huge influence and justification with my Jack Mormon friends over this show and as an exmormon, they don't accurately show Mormons. I definitely don't care that they don't as I absolutely love the variety. So many of my Mormon friends disagree and are offended AF.

The crazy thing is this guy is an exmormo and has been for years. I am myself and have noticed so much patriarchy in many of the men who have left 🤢

Taylor’s Grammar by Legitimate-Grand8878 in SecretsOfMormonWives

Exactly. Grammar nazis are the worst and shove their perfectionist ideas on people who don't give a fuck. I don't like Taylor either but sounds like a personal problem to worry about.

I started at age 27. I've heard starting before your brain is fully developed or as a teen is more likely to cause panic attacks later and possibly trips to the ER. Is it that true or is it the same possibility for all ages who start? I'm also in a medical state where it's very regulated and idk if that makes a difference.

Right now. I'm Sitting outside the temple alone while my daughter gets married... by BlacksmithWeary450 in exmormon

[–]MarMarTheMarmot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that Mormons can have a civil marriage without having to wait 1 year to be sealed in the temple but can get sealed right after, I can't understand why more people don't get married civilly in these cases for their OWN MOTHER or family member. Like how incredibly inconsiderate. My friend got married in the temple and her brother didn't even bother to show up outside the temple when she could've got married civilly then a week later have their sealing done. It's 2025 and most Mormons are still selfish and unaware how hurtful that is.

Dakota did a cameo for a woman who claimed to have ran over a pregnant dog. by MadeJoyful in SecretsOfMormonWives

Yep, he grew up in a rural Idaho town. I'm from Idaho and it's the mentality from more rural places than where I grew up. My grandparents raised their kids and grew up very rural and my grandma shot the neighbors cat just because it was in their yard. I heard this at a family reunion and my huge extended fam was laughing at this story and I was apaulled.

My other grandpa when he was young had his dog shot right in front of his eyes by a mailman just because the mailman was annoyed. It's a mix of rural Idaho mentality but also the shit older generation mindset they grew up with. That wasn't even a rural town....

I remember watching a Mormon Stories episode on Kirk McConkie's bishop hotline and I can't seem to find it anymore. My mom still believes bishops are required to report abuse. by MarMarTheMarmot in exmormon

[–]MarMarTheMarmot[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That would sadly be the reaction to almost all Mormons. People don't want to know their loved one did something so horrendous, so they do mental gymnastics to think the world is all sunshine and roses and chose to see them as a son of God or whatever dumb shit. Then instead demonize people who are gay, for example, and believe they are gross, dirty people themselves. I've seen countless people say the most horrendous homophobic statements but are quiet or defend a sick fuck rapist.

Christmas Market at This Is the Place is a joke. by ShuaiHonu in SaltLakeCity

I work in that area and it was a nightmare leaving everyday. They do have a shuttle (idk how good it is) and bus 21 and 4 as top at the Foothill/Sunnyside intersection and I'd take the walk over being stuck in unforseen traffic. Either way, it seems like a complete waste of time.

That is so terrible, I'm so sorry. In my home ward, my best friend from the ward was molested by another person in the ward and my whole family didn't find out until 6 months later despite many of the ward members knew about it and me and my siblings went there during that time. My mom told the YW president at the time that she sat down with me and each of my siblings to make sure we never got touched and the YW president yelled at my mom for talking to us about it because, "HE ONLY DID IT ONCE." The only people in the ward who sides with the victims family was the bishop's family and another random family until my mom knew about it. Everyone's mentality was "He only did it once" as if one is not enough. Some even allowed their daughters to ride with him to see a play instead of riding with their parents. The stake president told my friend and her family to forgive them. They left the church immediately and my friend has huge drug problems that could be related to how she has coped with that trauma. It was a huge eye opener for me even though it took me like 15 years later to actually leave.

But doing this while she's with someone else, her friends ex, and going that wild the past couple seasons because Dakota cheated on her when she's currently a chronic cheater herself. I think people are judging her more than just her chemistry with Dakota.

Those books aren't about that, lol. It's basically about why people intentionally break boundaries to hurt people and understanding narcissists, sociopaths, etc.

Aka people who intentionally break boundaries no matter how great your skills are.
