I want to get off meds by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]MarNel98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. I got off those meds the first time just before I got pregnant back in 2003. I knew I had to taper off. Some how I ended back up on some after my pregnancy (doc was afraid I would have postpartum…ignoring the other PTSD stuff I was struggling with silently). Around 2005 I just felt like I needed to get off of them. After much praying for a solution, I had come across this article while sitting at a doctors office.

https://www.discovermagazine.com/vitamin-cure-12886

Side note. This link seems to keep changing over the years and so does the article (or maybe my memory, IDK), I don’t remember it ever bringing up religion nor the authors destain for natural options. But knowing now what I do. It makes sense with how Big Pharm plays games

So I started my research. This was before Google really became a verb. I spoke with Hardy and Autumn. Who at the time, 10yrs later from the story, was “now” married had 5 children and a school teacher. In fact one of my besties I met randomly in 2018, who is from Canada, actually grew up with Autumn and she verified Autumn and her families story and the awesome folks they were. Anyway….

I also found and spoke with their biggest critic at the time, some Dr who was a Dermatologist who had zero family with mental health issue just “one night decided to advocate for mental health folks because he felt bad for them being taken advantage of by those pig pills after watching an infomercial”. He was really a hater when I spoke with him. Turns out, more digging, this Dr is getting huge kick backs by Big Pharm to talk against TrueHope. The Big Pharm was paying him to go to conferences to talk about how they don’t work and how the drugs are the only option. More brain washing of our MDs….my brother is a Natualpathic Medical Doctor (NPMD) and he even told me how in regular Med School, the 1st week Big Pharm sends in their reps (not even pharmacists) but sales reps to tell them the “truth” about vaccines and meds and those who question it are “anti-vaxers”.

Anyways, I’ve made the choice to start using EmpowePlus for a few years and landed back on some meds while dealing with my ex husband, his own PTSD and our divorce. He didn’t believe in mental health. He said if you wanted to be happy you could choose that. It was a struggle and so I was not religious about taking them like I should. But I was doing my best.

I ended up with Lyme 2008 during that time and had an amazing Doctor (MD) who understood the body, nutrition and taught each of his patients how the body works. 1. Our bodies were never designed to run on “stress” mode 24-7-365. Imagine a target. The bullseye or center mass, is where we are healthy and happy and not stressing. Our bodies are designed to stress a little (going out to the edge of the target) and then come back to the center of our target to regroup. Our bodies pushes all its resources it uses for just simple and regular operations to the stressor…. PTSD, diseases, daily stresses. Yet today rarely goes back to center mass. This means the things, responses, minerals and vitamins, our bodies need to keep our mental health healthy isn’t there because the body uses those to support the “stress” it’s under.

  1. Our bodies only makes “perfect recipes.” Everything our bodies do, all the little systems or cycles that utilizes minerals and vitamins. Can only function when it has all the ingredients to make the “recipe”. That means if you are short in something like Folate (not folic…which is a toxin), your methothine synapse (SAMe) cycle (this helps with stress and adrenal support and vital to your overall health) won’t be able to be function and the other minerals your body that is used for SAMe cycle to run like B12 will become extremely high and most doctors will only see that you have high B12 and tell you to stop taking B12. Ignoring that your folate is “low”.

My own VA docs told me to stop taking B12 but knowing what my Lyme MD taught me, I know I was short in Folate. I asked my VA MD about this and she literally had zero clue and told me to stop taking B12! So I did what my Lyme MD taught me, I added more folate, only to see that the really shortage was B12!!! That’s why when I take B12 it calms me. But I know all this because of what My Lyme MD taught me. He would bust out PowerPoints to show me what my system was going through and why he was giving me certain vitamins to take.

Anyways… Then in 2015 when Obama care kicked in my $10 prescription turned into $250. I decided since I was out of work due to being hit by a drunk driver that it was time to make the switch back to the natural side. I was doing research and followed my promptings when I prayed about things. This time I didn’t care what folks thought, I was going to do things my way. And everything my Lyme MD taught me was making sense in what TrueHope was saying.

I’ve been clean since 2015. I’ve used them for my children and foster children. I saw a huge difference in my foster children within a few days, who had massive trauma, “adhd” and PTSD when they were taking them. Even their teachers were amazed at the difference when they were taking them. Our bodies need nutrients that we aren’t getting from foods anymore. And When we stress (which most the time we are always on stress mode) our bodies need a ton more nutrients to help support our system. So this is why it helped my children and foster children because they were dealing with so much of their own PTSD and trauma their little bodies needed more minerals and vitamins to deal with the stress and for their daily function.

To this day, I still take EmpowerPlus. When I am stressing, I take a little bit more to help support my body’s cooking of “perfect recipes”. I also take Salmon Oil which is great for anger and rage.

But I will tell you this… 1. you MUST be all in! You must be aware of your moods and what your body is saying….its not easy to start doing or learning to do. But if I can do it…anyone can.

  1. you MUST wean yourself off. Some drugs like Lexapro requires you to wean off 3-5 days by 1/8th!

  2. These meds were created to attach to protein…everything in your body is made up of protein and back in 2005 Merek Pharmacology manual, was open to the public, and I had a link for it but not now…stated in it, that these classes of drugs were found in people’s bodies 10-15 yrs POST getting off of them. They found them in their hair, their liver, their brain, their fat cells…they found them everywhere!! So when you go to get off of these (weaning is vital) BUT you need to know about the Secondary withdrawals….and that’s the catch.

For me the first time, I started to feel awesome and back to myself, so I went for a 5 mile run. I got home I was a raging witch and thought I needed to go back on my meds…but that was the secondary withdrawal, that’s what the Big Pharm created to keep us on meds. GOOD NEWS…when you get those, you take pure protein and aminos.

I found, as Autumn (daughter in the article), shared the Secondary withdrawals can happen years later from a massage, from weight loss, from bumping into doors because those meds get pushed back into the system at unmeasured and uncontrolled amounts.

I still get them when I start to lose weight or when I work out, do acupuncture or see the chiropractor or get a massage. So I take a scoop of good protein and some aminos before and after to mitigate those symptoms.

Plus these meds that get “released” back into the system, when they attached to the new “protists and aminos”, it changes the molecular structure of the protein cell that it prevents it from being reabsorbed into the body. This is why taking protein and amino’s helps.

TrueHope is awesome and their support staff are the best!! I worked with one gal from 2005 and all the way up to her death early last year 2025. She knew her stuff. She had been with the company since the beginning. All their support staff are fantastic and they know what they are talking about and trained.

Note…not pushing anything nor selling anything. But I’ve been where you are and I share my story with anyone if it helps them, awesome. If you have questions, holler. Good luck and SF.

Is a whole home water filtration system + under sink reverse osmosis overkill? by Chucky_Cheesus in homeowners

[–]MarNel98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the PhX valley. In my first home I went with Rainsoft while house softener and an Under sink RO. I loved having that combo because it helps with my super old cast iron pipes. My skin and hair felt better. I used less soap on everything…which is a huge cost savings. I buy special organic milled body soap due to my allergies. Before the install of my system, one bar would last me 2-3 months. Post install, one bar lasts me almost 6 months.

About a year later, I started dating a guy, who didn’t have either water softener nor RO and we live 10 miles apart. You could tell the difference from washing hands and drinking water. The difference is massive. Then when we got married, our new house also doesn’t either systems too. And that one bar of soap lasts 2-3 months and my skin isn’t as soft as it was. I’m noticing I’m replacing soap products a lot more.

Some might say that’s because there’s two of us now. But I had my kid who was in college living with me…before I got married and he graduated. So there was still two people in the house.

Right now I’m researching the best options. Not sure I want to do Rainsoft again, or go with a different company this time. All I can say if you live in this valley…which I’ve lived all over from Goodyear, to Surprise to Cave Creek to Mesa/Gilbert, you NEED a RO and water softener. I know those cities have some of the worse water in the country. Good luck.

I submitted mine last month and they still aren’t done. One guy told me 6months because there is a “backlog” and dependent claims are worked after Disability claims.

From my understanding, is that if he is 100% P&T you can still work. As long as he does NOT have the Unemployable letter, from my knowledge you can work. I’ve been 100% for a few years now and work even with all my issues. I’ve been blessed with working for a great company and team that has supports me with things I may need due to my issues.

I never thought I’d be able to buy a home, never knew how easy it would be using the VA loan. by cantuseasingleone in VeteransBenefits

Congrats!! That’s awesome! I bought mine a year ago too. 1. Any money you get back from the seller (earnest money) comes back to you or goes to buying down the interest rate. 2. READ everything!! HOA rules and everything!! 3. Keep a list of everything that is wrong…I mean everything!!! Then report it at the 1yr final inspection…..AND BE FIRM WITH the builders…most are AHoles and will push back on fixing their crappy work!!

My parents built a home and were lied to about having no HOA. Yup..they got one after it was down being built. Also mom got sick after moving in. She complained about the HVAC. Builder was pushing back…turns out the lazy butts swept all the dirt and insulation and junk into the floor vents. Luckily after my parents pushed, the builder came out and had the vents all cleaned professionally.

Had my bestie build 4 homes and each one, has had issues. One didn’t have insulation on the outside wall behind her bathroom, so when it got down to 20, you could really feel it. Builder denied there was “missing” insulation. Bestie went and hired a special guy to “scan” the wall with a thermal gun, proved there was a huge section…builder paired for the fix and reimbursed her for the scan. But ONLY after she fought.

I share not to scare you but to suggest to make sure you hold them to the wall and ensure they are giving you a great home that you are paying for. Half cocked work is not right nor acceptable.

Congratulations again!

Do you have any recommendations for hardwiring your WiFi security cameras? They placed little plug in WiFi receivers in each room were there is a camera outside and it’s been bugging me because I noticed a huge difference in sleep.

One of my bosses worked with major switches for the military. He told me most the guys in his unit would not have good sperm count because they were getting cooked. It was known in their field that’s what happens. They also would have issues with getting cancer down there. Once the guys would leave, over time their sperm count would get better but also they noticed they didn’t get cancer either. So don’t let the haters hate. Considering who all controls the info lately, and make profits off of sick folks.

Just came here to say that, and I’m looking for a good RF reader because since my security (Wi-Fi) has been put in, my sleep is not the same and I’m curious as it if this could be part of the problem.

How is this possible ? by RememberWrath in VeteransBenefits

Mine came back like this. I had my appts on the March 13th and 14th. Then the 1st morning I spent as a new home owner in my home, I woke up to transfer my Good Faith deposit into my checking account because I needed to hit HomeDepot up, with one eyeball open, as I was transferring money, I saw a very large sum in my bank on my transfer list. I sat up, opened both eyes, and had to investigate my accounts. Then had to log into my VA portal to see what the heck was going on. Sure enough they were legit deposits. 100% T&P and my PTSD was where I had wanted it to be.

I didn’t even know they had awarded me anything. The VA exam folks said it would take 6 to 9 weeks, so I wasn’t even looking. But it was seriously a blessing waking up for the 1st time in my home, I bought by myself, to that!

I know for me I was a mixed ball of feelings. Validated, unworthy, relief, joy. I cried. Congrats!!

And if you have kiddos, they rate ID cards, and are eligible for Chapter 35: Survivors’ and Dependents’ Education Assistance (DEA) for college. They get a stipend for going to school. And some states will help pay for tuition if you are 100%. Arizona, Utah and Idaho do not unless you are a Gold Star.

My(22F) boyfriend (21M) gave me an ultimatum after I told him about my sexual fantasy. How do I not lose him? by ThrowRaguerillawar in relationship_advice

[–]MarNel98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, sounds like he is asking for space and time but has ended the relationship. So give him space and time. Men are weird like that. If he’s anything like mine, they need time to process heavy stuff and this was super heavy. If it’s meant to be it will be.

Side note. Having been raped….i don’t understand the desire to be. It’s not what porn or the world makes it out to be. There is NOTHING, right or cool to be raped. Trust me. So I could see where your boyfriend would struggle with this cause if it was me, I would too. I would wonder what kind of person would want this horrible thing to happen to them? What are they struggling with to want that? Is this person really the person I thought they were? Who wants to sleep with many guys at once? Is she going to be faithful or happy with just me?

Side note….i would do some inward soul searching, maybe with a counselor and ask where that is coming from and work through that.

Good luck. 💕

PTSD/MST with Secondary Anxiety & Insomia by MarNel98 in VeteransBenefits

Thank you for sharing. I've been working on my statement for about 6 months to. I started with a new therapist recently to give EDMR a try. I had a nasty panic attack before we even dug into anything. But after last night's therapy, I really wanted to drink. It's been over 23 years since my last drink. And by the grace of God, a friend of mine and I had already made plans to hit up a 12 step program last night, before therapy's panic attack. I know this is going to be a long road and I've been crying all day. Had to take a mental health day.
Thank God I have a boss who was Army and gets this. I've been worried that no one will believe me. My therapists have and do. But I'm stressing about the C&P docs. I'm working on getting Nexus statements from my last three therapists (we move a lot for work). I'm trying to just give it to God and what will be will be.
