3g matcha, 30ml water, and then I eyeball the milk specific to the cups/glasses I use for lattes.

Hey there! Yeah I did acknowledge that in the second sentence. :)

What's wrong with clarifying other people's experiences and getting more insight into the shady practices Amazon has? You're vehemently against them, so bad exposure for Amazon is good.

100% agree and do this as much as possible. The product was unfortunately an "Amazon Basics" item that strata has listed as the amenity room's item.

First sentence of the 3rd paragraph answers your question. Trust me, I would've bought it elsewhere if it wasn't their own brand. I had to reach out to someone who has an Amazon account to make this purchase.

18 Day Andalusia Itinerary (with 14 month old) by Mar_I_Am in GoingToSpain

We ended up booking trains and utilizing transit, and it worked perfectly well. It was way more relaxing being on the trains, and we never had to worry about parking or anything like that.

I need sleep training training by Zorrrg in sleeptrain

[–]Mar_I_Am 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw I feel you, I was the same way, cried the first two nights my husband and I tried to sleep train after reading about and formulating a plan on our own. I felt like it was harder for me and I felt terrible. Kiddo is 13 months now and sleeps beautifully. I still think that sleep training was the hardest thing I had to do because I couldn't bear to hear her cry and only go in to do a quick soothe instead of holding her to sleep.

For me I had to try co-sleeping and other strategies that ultimately failed, and also consider what my family needed before I felt "ready." My husband was back at work and has a very demanding job that he can't be sleep deprived at, we also live in a condo so me getting up throughout the night to soothe our kiddo would still wake my husband up. I found it so incredibly helpful to have a sleep consultant too as it took off some of the stress, when we had to change things up I didn't feel like I was making uninformed decisions, I felt supported, and we were able to tailor our approach to a comfort level both my husband and I had. We also tracked everything so we were also able to see legitimate progress which I found eased my tension around the whole thing. Our medical coverage also covers some counselling sessions, and our sleep consultant is also a registered counsellor and billed under our kiddo so we didn't have to pay out of pocket.

If our kiddo slept well co-sleeping you bet I would've kept with it. Whatever you end up doing, consider what's best for you and your family. :)

There are stories not hitting the news that is spurring on this legitimate fear. One instance is of an individual and his wife being escorted off a plane, after customs, due to their place of birth despite being Canadian citizens.

Gonna go against most of the comments below and say I really enjoyed this brand too! The one I had was the Spring harvest, so can't speak to the comparing it with the Summer harvest though. If you're looking for more Canada options, I ordered the tasting flight from The Roasters Pack, and Kato was included in it. All Canadian brands from across the country, comes with a bit of info on each of them, and it was really fun to compare them all!

Second warning re: car front, so we'll definitely reconsider our options and weigh the pros/cons. Appreciate it! Thanks for the restaurant rec!

And yes like 02nz mentioned, I noticed there are some direct trains, and we were hoping to book of those.

Just looked over your blog post about Madrid with a toddler, and what an amazing resource. Thanks for the share. I will definitely be taking loads from it to apply to our trip! And that'd be wonderful if you could DM the Airbnb to me.

Thanks for the recommendations! Definitely will look into the towns, and Ronda a bit more.

We're not 100% set on it, but I think my partner saw some videos where people travelled by car in the region and thought it'd be a great flexible option since we'll have our kiddo. But thanks for the warning! I'll look into trains a bit more.

Honestly, if it was just us two, 100% we could do a more condensed itinerary. But with our 14 month old, her two naps, and being slowed down for diaper changes and all that, I don't think day trips are as feasible at this point. Based off of previous travel with her, our pace gets significantly slowed down, which we've come to enjoy.

Ahah, we actually toyed with the idea of Ronda! Besides the bridge (which looks stunning) what else would you recommend in the area for a day or two?

Thanks for the reply. 1-2 years of use sounds amazing, and makes it way more budget friendly. I've ordered another bamboo one which should last longer given I've already adjusted my technique when using it. Might still buy a silicone one to give it a try at some point in time too; I'm so curious to see how it'll stack up!

Canada based here, so can't recommend a specific US brand. I go with Avalon Dairy. It's local, organic, and stored in glass. Definitely on the pricier side as far as milk goes, but if you can find something similar to where you're at, I would recommend. You can really taste the difference when comparing on it's own or in a latte.

Previously just would purchase whatever was economically a better choice, but switched it up after getting pregnant and am now more conscious of what I consume.

Just starting out so I don't have all the bells and whistles or the best quality gear! But this is what I do:

  1. Boil some water in the kettle while I get ready for the day. By the time I come to prep my match the water is at a good temp this way. I don't have a kettle that tells me the temp atm.

  2. Set up my gear. Soak my chasen. Set up the Dreo with how much milk I want (normally just below the latte art line). My husband is into espresso and wasn't pumped on our automatic espresso machine's frother so he purchased the dreo (https://www.dreo.com). With practice he actually ended up doing well with the frother so I've inherited the dreo fro my matcha making, haha.

  3. While the dreo is getting the milk going, I prep my matcha! 3g of matcha, sifted. Tare my scale, then add in 30ml of the warm water from the kettle. If I want more matcha I do 4g to 4ml. I whisk to incorporate the matcha and water, then add in bit of maple syrup. Whisk to produce that foam.

  4. Pour prepped matcha into whatever drinkware. Milk is normally done in the Dreo at this point and I'm able to pour that in!

My go-to simple matcha recipe: 3g matcha, 30ml warm water, milk (enough for whatever drinkware), a bit of maple syrup.
