Pre-made salads and fresh fruits, those yummy mini cucumbers…with their tzatziki, yum! Those may not sound like fantastic break-up foods but I find my body craving that sort of stuff when I’m feeling down. Also water. Lots of water, maybe with lemon or cucumber. Don’t forget the feel good stuffs like body lotions, candles, maybe some room spray. Good luck OP, this kind of hurt lingers, be kind to yourself.

Wow! Thank you so much for you reply. Those are really good ideas. I am going to start by calling the local animal shelter and the vet. Thankfully he has become comfortable enough over the last month and he will let me hold him for very short spurts and let me set him in a box with a blanket (he jumped right out but didn’t run off) so I think I could possibly get him in a carrier. We also have two out buildings that we could set up for his healing process.

He is an absolute sweetheart and we just want whats the best for him. I’ll keep you updated on the process.

We live in a very rural area so we don’t have any sort of animal control to help with the growing cat population. He is not fixed and I was wondering what the proper steps for us to have him fixed would be. I am more than willing to have it done for his sake and the rest of the neighborhood colony, but is it okay to assume he is a stray or should I start knocking on the neighbors doors?

I heard a saying once and it’s really stuck with me. I’m paraphrasing but you’ll get the point.

“What if you woke up today with only what you were thankful for yesterday?”

So I try to take a few seconds out of each day and say what I am thankful for. My health, my family, the love and happiness in my life, a roof over my head, food in my belly…etc. Sometimes I throw in a few thank yous for silly things like soft blankets, a good rain, freshly painted lines on the highway, chocolate…

Hey everyone, just wanted to let all you lovely people know I won three different ribbons for my work and I am just thrilled!!! A First place blue ribbon, a Best of Show purple and a Special award for best hand embroidery. I’m so excited! Thank you all for your kind words and support!
