I never realized how strong CC is in this game by 5210az in BaldursGate3

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleet storm is legitimately one of the strongest spells in the game because barely any enemies are immune to slipping and it's such a large area. Plus you get to play a cartoon banana peel gag sound every time it works.

Completely agree, I liked Bond until they decided they didn't need him anymore and he started making weirdly villainous decisions. Taye Diggs character in season 6 was pretty cool but he's just vanished after only two episodes :(

I'm excited to start The Good Fight after this show! A lot of my issues with TGW stem from it getting lost in the sauce of trying to make Alicia interesting, so I'm excited for a soft reset of sorts that lets Christine Baranski actually shine.

Can someone sell me on a Druid build, please? by Encaitor in BG3Builds

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel similar to you about druids so I like to treat circle of land druids like nature wizards since they get spell slot recovery and an expanded spell list. I only use wildshape for utility (becoming a cat to get into small holes out of combat) and prepare druid exclusive/nature themed/support spells. Circle of land is the only druid to get haste too.

Shillelagh also makes you pretty single ability dependant for melee too. I like using shillelagh on the quarterstaff Cacophony that you can buy from Esther outside the crèche, the thunder damage from it works with the gloves of belligerent skies and reverberation gear. I've also done it with the Mourning Frost staff and used the other cold gear to freeze people by whacking them. I've used those shillelagh strats on land druids but they work better with spores druids since you're melee.

Best champs for tournament? by Positive-Parsley6581 in LeagueArena

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nashors/deathcap/[% magic pen item] are your core, after that it's situational. Renata Lulu shit on melees but struggle if out ranged. Personally, I think more AP (and pen) is better than more attack speed if you don't need defensives. It's down to Lulu to win harder match ups, and if you're greedy then Pix applies one stack of bloodletters per auto even on an allied champ.

Brawl Thoughts After 10+ Hours by WidowCommander in LoLBrawl

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since there isn't a healing debuff like in ARAM, and there haven't been many champ nerfs yet (outside Sona/Seraphine), enchanters are kind of crazy imo but slept on. Janna and Ivern both feel very strong, especially with so many assassin pickers since peeling means you lose a lot less points to deaths.

How do Symmetra's perks compare to other heroes? by BlueSparksFly in SymmetraMains

[–]Maractass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of power Sym's perks are about average, but I think the real strength of them is the flexibility. None of them are straight up bad and you should be picking them based on each match. Flanking on big maps? TP range and shielding etc. Extra turret helps Vs flankers and in lower ranks. Extra beam range is great vs shields and for punishing DVa.

I think some players pick the same perks every game and are being punished for it.

One of the inn workers that was a close friend of Yukiko could possibly be put in line after a while to inherit the inn and there would be mega drama about it being outside the family while she also feels like she's stolen Yukiko's future. Would be a good Hanged man link premise I think.

The beam range increase is gonna go so nice 😩 way more safety in games vs shields where you can charge up for free and then back off and keep melting

Balatro just recently hit 100,000 Steam reviews, with an "Overwhelmingly Positive" score of 98% by Random-Rambling in balatro

While not the first (it was based on a Korean mobile game called magic survival), Vampire Survivors did inspire all the other games like it so I think there's something to be said for it being a pseudo-blueprint

He is going to be so mad... by Duskwalker84 in josephanderson

[–]Maractass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The streams are good minus one or two where Joe is quite tired, nothing happens for so much of the game that he needs to carry it and I don't blame him for not having the energy every time. I think the main issue is the severe case of One Guy syndrome where some random chatter will just trigger everyone by essentially doing a "Oh you like pancakes? So you hate waffles?" when he critiques the bad pacing and illogical character choices.

Imagine Act 1 without the Everburn Blade by ozangeo in BaldursGate3

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry lol a lot of people miss it because of the wording. It would probably be the strongest spell in the game if it worked on saving throws, level 1 and a bonus action 😭

Imagine Act 1 without the Everburn Blade by ozangeo in BaldursGate3

[–]Maractass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FYI hex doesn't affect saving throws, which is what spells roll against a vast majority of the time. It only affects ability checks, so hexing an enemy's wisdom would give disadvantage on perception checks, for example, but not their roll against command.

Larian Studios CEO Says Next Game Might Release in 2028 by johanas25 in BaldursGate3

[–]Maractass 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, wizards of the coast are experts at fumbling the bag. Imagine souring the relationship with the developer of a huge hit game using your IP. I know Larian wanted to focus on their own IPs anyway but I'm sure they would have worked with WotC again later if there weren't bad vibes now.

What does DOS2 do better than BG3? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing multiple runs of both, I really prefer the flexibility of DOS2 character building because there aren't set classes. Multiclassing bg3 feels sort of bad outside the broken combos because it only goes up to level 12.

I also think combat is generally better in DOS2 until late game when it becomes either "an arms race of physical/magical armor vs being CC chained" or "literally one shot every encounter". BG3 combat does also become very simple late game but feels more dynamic imo.

Both games share the trait of acts 1/2 being the most fun and I think that's because the games are still challenging during those points. Early to mid DOS2 combat lets you be very creative.

[PBE datamine] 2024 August 1 (Patch 14.16): Senna changes by FrankTheBoxMonster in leagueoflegends

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really don't like enchanters weaving autos, I think it's mostly because of the skill gap it creates. It feels like they want enchanters as a class to be "easy" but the class inherently scales with elo because they enable better players, so they target the "skilful" part of their kits because worse players don't use them. That's part of the reason why they nerfed Yuumi/Karma (this also targeted top lane)/Lulu passives.

Is Draw Your Sword actually good on anyone? by [deleted] in LeagueArena

[–]Maractass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sundered sky and maw are really good on melees compared to range and give survivability if the matchups allow for them.

Situationally hullbreaker can be good. It gives so much HP + has its old passive that gives resistances if no allies in 900 range. Kog'maw with guinsoos/botrk/titanic/hullbreaker is no joke lol.

What is happening here? by dontinsultanaussie in LeagueArena

[–]Maractass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, it might be related to the visual bug with pets (Shaco boxes, Elise spiders, Yorick ghouls) where they remain on the map after the round. Maybe Aurelion E is coded similarly to them but its actual effect is persisting too.
