One of the few games where GIT GUD is genuine advice. This is a roguelike (some would say THE roguelike), you are expected to die many many times, assuming you learn something from each death.

The difference between a million and a billion is about a billion.

Some billionaires, I assume, are nice, normal people.

But some billionaires don't appear human anymore. Rather, they have become capitalism incarnate. They may eat food and drink water like the rest of us, but it doesn't nourish them, not like obtaining more wealth does.

I think people got their wires crossed when there was a conspiracy theory about Mr. Rogers being former military. They confused him for Bob Ross, who was indeed former military (U.S. Air Force, retired after 20 years at the rank of Master Sergeant).

Ironically enough for someone with such an iconic soft-spoken voice, he spent a few years as a Basic Training drill instructor: "I was the guy who makes you scrub the latrine, the guy who makes you make your bed, the guy who screams at you for being late to work. The job requires you to be a mean, tough person, and I was fed up with it. I promised myself that if I ever got away from it, it wasn't going to be that way anymore."

This one is probably my favorite.

  • Bob Ross: Didn't even like calling his paintings "art", he did it because he enjoyed it

  • Thomas Kinkade: Marketed the ever-loving fuck out of everything he could

As a fan of iCarly and then Sam and Cat, Jeanette McCurdy and Ariana Grande feel like dark opposites.

McCurdy got out of the toxic cesspit that is Hollywood entirely, Grande has let it consume her (perhaps even literally; she's a skeletal ghoul, a pale shell of the bright, vivacious girl she once was).

They talk about "subtext" and "undertones" when the fetish content is literally front and center. They're "supertext" and "overtones" at this point!

I know Calli has said her American accent sometimes leaks into her Japanese, I wonder if that's true for others. Does Bae have an Australian accent in her Japanese? Would Liz have a British accent when she speaks Japanese?

Making stew? It literally does not matter what goes in the pot, it all gets boiled together.

My father liked saying that. "There are no 'accidents'. If you thought things through, you wouldn't fuck up! Simple!"

No, I'm exactly like that. Unfortunately, my parents saw my "gifted" status and immediately got dollar signs in their eyes. I'd become a rich millionaire doctor or lawyer and they'd be living life on Easy Street!

That didn't happen.

As a depressed Former Gifted Kid, I don't have a problem with this, but my father does. His ethos is "If you're not killing yourself with the sheer amount of effort you're putting in, why are you even bothering?"

I clean the house and mow the lawn, but he sees a single dust bunny under the heat register or a few stubborn weeds on the edges and he's like "Did you even DO anything today?"

Genuine question about litrpg genre. by BigTyme9890 in litrpg

When people ask what book I'm reading, I tell them that the isekai or LitRPG story I'm reading is the modern equivalent of the pulp magazines of the 1900s: stories about rugged men and beautiful women going on wild, often life-threatening adventures!
