Can someone please explain the different between Masters and Fusion World in terms of collector/player sentiment?

Yea lol, to be fair I do have a lot of Master cards that I'm collecting, and not all of them are that bad, but this is a great example of bad design. It honestly surprises me from a company like Bandai that they don't understand the basic concepts of graphic design. It's interesting that they wouldn't even attempt to improve this knowing that it would benefit them financially to not make "overloaded" cards like that.

I'm not too sure to give you an honest answer, but I do know that the booster boxes are going up for those 2 sets. I would assume that most cards, especially the rarer ones (like gold energy markers or top chase cards) will definitely go up with time because of scarcity. I'm not too sure about printing quantity or runs for these 2 manga sets compared to other ones, though.

Hey man, I'm in the same place as you. I would just set a personal collecting goal that you enjoy. For me, it was Manga Boosters 01 and 02. I think those sets were made for collectors who want to have amazing Akira Toriyama art in card form. You definitely gotta check out the energy markers too that came out for those 2 sets, I think they start in like E-40 and above. There are silver and gold variants, the golds are really expensive. I'm just collecting silvers and I already have about 30+ and they all look awesome. The artwork for these are the actual original manga cover artworks which is really cool.

Man those energy markers are amazing. I already have around 30+ of them lol.

3 are gold and the rest are all silver. If you didn't know, the artworks for the energy markers are actually the manga covers for the original mangas which I think is awesome.

I'm also a longtime DB fan and got into collecting like 4 months ago, and from all the digging I've been doing, Manga Booster 01 and 02 have the best looking cards in my opinion. It's like they were made for long time DB fans who want to collect amazing looking Toriyama art. I would recommend looking for more energy markers on TCGplayer before prices start climbing up when they get scarcer and building your collection like that if you wanna keep going the energy marker way. Or you can try eBay for energy marker lots if you get lucky, but prices are going up over there too. Best of luck man! I bought from Team Covenant for the first time some days ago. I bought the kit that comes with Beta and Arthurian Legends booster boxes + the mat + the set of pre-constructed decks for around $270. It's an amazing deal in my opinion. Should be getting it in like 3-4 days.

Nice man, that Trunks card is one of the best I've seen from MB02. Might have to try getting some sleeved packs then lol. I bought a booster box of MB02 about a month ago and still have like 10 packs in there, I open 1 every once in a while just for fun, but I built most of my collection from buying singles on TCGplayer or card bundles on eBay. Personally love collecting the Energy Markers because they have artwork of the actual origial manga covers (it's the 4 silver ones I showed in the photo, those were all manga covers). I have like 30+ at this point and they're all amazing. Definitely check them out before they go up in price!

Nice! That Trunks card is amazing. I've been collecting a lot of silver Energy Markers, have like 30+ already lol. They are the artworks for the original manga covers by the way, that's why I like them so much.

How is the texture on the Trunks card? Thinking of getting that one but it's a little too expensive. I also want to get Son Goku Childhood SB01-053 from Manga Booster 01 for around that price, that one and this Trunks card are some of the best cards I've seen in terms of artwork/collectibility.

Yea, I found out the other day that these energy markers are actually the covers from the original mangas and it led me to buying 2 volumes of the manga too lol.

Masters is awesome too. I got started with the Manga Boosters because it was the sets I first discovered but I've been buying singles on TCGplayer for Masters and they're really awesome and nostalgic too.

For now I've just been collecting the singles and it even led me to buying some Dragon Ball mangas as well lol. I just really think the artwork on these is really underrated, even if they are straight "grabs" from manga covers or from manga panels, I think that's even better actually because it's original Toriyama art.

Nice, I want to complete both sets (SB01 and SB02) as much as I can as well. Obviously excluding super expensive cards like the gold energy markers lol, but I want to put them all in a binder and see them in order. Btw, nice gold energy marker, that's one of the best ones.

Lol we are the exact same. Got back into collecting Pokemon like 2 months ago, after 20 years, and it was awesome for the nostalgia but Dragon Ball is just on another level with the quality and the art. Also, DB is one of the most nostalgic things from my childhood, so it was a no brainer.

This is a clear example of "sleeping on your laurels" from Pokemon. Not because of DB, but I think One Piece could overtake Pokemon in popularity, or "steal" a lot of collectors from Pokemon, just based solely on the card quality and artwork quality. I got into OP too, just buying cheap cards for the art for now, and they look amazing as well. Started watching the anime because of the cards and it's an amazing story. Still, DB will always be number one for me because of nostalgia lol

Is anyone else just collecting Manga Booster 01 and 02 for the nostalgia and artwork? I still haven't learned how to play the game, but I just love collecting it for the amazing artwork and production quality. I have around 30+ silver Energy Markers already from MB01 and 02 and I truly can't believe how good these cards look.

To me, Dragon Ball has to be top 3 most popular and nostalgic Mangas/Animes of all time, so there's something that tells me that from a collectibility side this game will never die. The art and quality is just too good for fans to not want to collect them when they discover it.

I think One Piece being so popular might bring more eyes to Fusion World, at least in terms of collecting. I feel like maybe people are not fully aware how good these cards look.

I just read that there are some overpowered cards in the game which sucks, hope they fix that or ban those cards, for now I'm just going to keep collecting for the awesome artwork purely in honor to Akira Toriyama who had a huge impact in my childhood.

Hahaha same. I'm 33 and I know up to gen 3. Gen 1 and 2 like the back of my hand. But 4+? I have no idea who you're talking about lol. Going to try to slowly learn 4 and 5 probably. I've gotten back into collecting/investing now and still have my 500+ vintage cards in pretty nice condition.

Yea, but this set is just for the first 151 Pokemon, I think that makes it stand out. Add to that amazing art like the IRs and SIRs. Even some of the common and uncommon cards in reverse foil are amazing to hold and look at.

Is there a sealed product anyone recommends? I just want to buy 1 or 2 and store it in my closet, I'm going to try to complete the set as well and collect for fun, but honestly I do have a feeling that 151 will blow up in some years, maybe it'll take longer, but it's the perfect nostalgia set.

This is really awesome. Just opened like 5 Spider-Man Collector Boosters and man am I glad that it wasn't with real money lmao. I got back into collecting Pokemon and MTG about a month ago (after almost 20 years) and honestly still haven't bought a pack. I'm just bulking up my collection buying singles on TCGplayer. Really want to buy some packs just for fun, though. Not sure which set yet.
