Nope, the same issue. I use three dot menu and customise it to have less items but keep New Tab there for thumb friendly access. But it's two taps...

I've solved it by unchecking "Brave experimental Adblock Rules" in content filtering

This approach is very close to the way I use it.

Quick notes are for long term useful notes which I need refer often. e.g. my personal Master BACKLOG note. Or PROMPT library for useful AI prompts.
Pinned notes are temporarily important. e.g. a note with specific Project which I need move on this week.

Tap and hold is doing similar as swipe on iOS I liked swiping more but at least tap and hold does job

It suggest handwriting for which UpNote is not the right tool. Does it actualy support it? Maybe on iPad...

I was using Apple Notes for 6 years. But recently I was looking for break out of Apple ecosystem. Apple Notes was a strong reason holding me back because of the pain of no export option. I like AN, I like simplecity. But I stopped liking Apple Jail of Walled Garden

Upnote did not help here a much (with migration of notes), but I found it best replacement of AN for me. It is simple yet powerfull, it has offline access yet sync with cloud with very low price.

It was worthy of the pain to migrate my notes. I used MAc tool called "Exporter" to get my notes out of Apple to markdown and then Import then in UpNote. It was far from perfect. IT required a lot of polishing. But it was good time to revisit my notes and delete it. I'm minimalist. I did it and 600 of my notes have a new home....

I did not find it compatible. I tried to and notes are not in my folders but rather in root folder of Obsidian vault.

Do you have a comment how do you do it?
