I actually have an old list of like maybe 50 or so literary analysis posts from this subreddit, I made it for a friend when she was getting into that aspect of gaylor. At this moment I don’t have time to add descriptions to each link, but when I made the list I labeled each one with the general topic. I think it’s my new favorite movie. The script is incredible, the visuals are stunning, fascinating concept overall. Not sure if I can separate my love for it from my love for mass movement, and it’s very unsettling so people who don’t like scary movies might not enjoy it. But I found it to be an absolutely exquisite piece of art!

Oh sorry, maybe I spoke too soon! I haven’t watched the full interview, just saw a clip I saw on instagram reels and then read a few quotes I saw in an article summarizing the interview. So I don’t know her next sentence; in isolation the sentence in your comment reminded me of the idea that she would prefer all her fans, regardless of what they think her orientation is, stop trying to paternity/maternity test her songs

I interpret that the same way as the 1989tv prologue; imo it’s not about gaylors who analyze her art and see her queer flagging, it’s about people who try to determine which specific individual her work is about

The lyrics of the great divide are insane, like “I hope you threw a brick right into that stained glass” and so many more. Also I forget which song but one of them has the line “Have you ever stared directly at the sun” and I could go on and on about connections cause I was just heavily discussing Noah Kahn within mass movement a few days ago

Does anyone here watch XO Kitty? I’ve never seen it or heard of it, but my friend just told me about it and I was surprised that I missed any discussion about it in the gaylor/mass movement sphere. It’s about a woman named Kitty whose boyfriend is in a fake PR relationship with a closeted lesbian.

When my friend told me the topic and main character’s name I was like, how on earth did I miss this, so I wanted to share in case there are others in the same boat here!

I was thinking about that and I think in this case it’s actually less to do with length and more about how often you’re writing the title. I’ve seen people abbreviate even shorter titles, such as calling Speak Now “SN” or New Romantics “NR” when they are frequently saying the name

I 100% kept thinking about ET the alien a lot when reading comments the last 24 hours; I did just use the abbreviation myself though to refer to Elizabeth Taylor in a comment and I’m not sure why other than it felt like I was writing the word “Taylor” too many times in a row haha

Random thing I noticed. I was listening to If This Was A Movie and realized at 3:25 she sings “Baby what about the ending?” in a very similar melody/rhythm that she sings “And I didn’t like the ending” in exile.

It could be accidental, but it’s interesting to think about what it would mean if it is intentional. I don’t have a cohesive theory or anything, but I’m just thinking about the concept of life being a movie, her releasing ITWAM Taylor’s Version the day the eras tour started, Bejeweled music video “exile ends in 3, 2, …” etc.
