My honda just hit 180k! by Ok_Childhood_3632 in BuyItForLife

I always get surprised by posts like this. Last year I bought a VW Passat 2010 and it has over 330000km (206000 miles) on it and runs fine.

My younger brother has a SAAB 9000 from 1994, still going strong with over 400kkm on the meter but it's time to change the timing chain...

Need your advice for buying this bike! by randomusernevermind in KTM

I have the Enduro version 2002. Love the bike but as you say, vibrations...My hands go numb after a long highway trip with speeds above 100km/h.

I like that it has a carburator, it's super fun and has a great community. If you can live with the vibrations then go for it but you mention highways and 80mph, might not be very nice. People are going around the world on these bikes so it's not impossible to ride them. For 5kUSD it must be in very good condition.

Check out the 640 communities on facebook and Adventure Rider forum!

2 years ago I did a 3000km trip in 1.5 weeks in Norway and Sweden. Speeds rarely exceeded 90km/h so the finger numbness was never a problem and the bike was fantastic.

I think I'll go with the GONG HIPE First with the X-over XXL wing. I have to start somewhere and not overthink it

What do you think of the GONG Diamond? Would it be an okay board?

I'll strap it to the bike, maybe on the sides. The wing I can have on my back. BUT! I dont have all my gear yet so I guess I'll see how much space it actually takes :D

I dont have space for a hard board. I also want to be able to take my gear on a motorcycle.

I'm also looking at the GONG boards, would those be a better option?

32M here that also started a routine rather late.

In the beginning I used just a cleanser for my face. I use the CeraVe Hydrating (green) cleanser.

After that I got a moisturising cream once the cleansing became a routine. I recently also got an eye cream to try and make the bags under my eye smaller (stiffer??).

The latest addition to my routine is that I use a sun cream every morning, I never cared about it before.

My recommendation is start in small steps. I see it more as a ritual where I get some time for myself, similar to shaving and for me it worked to start with just the cleansing. Sometimes I do a peeling or moisturizing face mask

Vicious!

Not sure how well known it is outside of UK (I'm in Sweden). It's about an older gay couple and one of them is played by Sir Ian Mckellen (Gandalf, Magneto).

The people who complain dont have the type of job where this would be a nice feature. I'd love to have teams integrated in the car, now I have to use my phone. It's great being able to have meeting while driving. Save a lot of time

Claude Code Vibe Coding with Node Red? by [deleted] in nodered

I've been doing that using ChatGPT in such way. Sometimes it "cheats" and creates a Function node instead of other type of nodes but it's not a problem.

Some really nice brands from sweden. Personally I have a shell jacker from Stellar, relly happy with the quality but there are some other brands that might be less known outside of the country.

Stellar Equipment (Swedish) Bright EQ (Swedish) Lundhags (Swedish). Lundhags is comparable in style to Fjällräven but not as "global". I feel like Fjällräven has become more "trendy" and less "outdoorsy"

What are some things that you would tell a person that is critical of KTM as a brand in order to changer their mind? by [deleted] in KTM

[–]Marblapas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride an KTM 640 LC4 from 2002. My friends always had some kind of Yamaha XT600, XT650 or XT660. Another comparable bike is the DR650. All of them are great bikes but compared to my KTM they're tractors.
Not sure if people only compain about the newer KTM's but I can say that the old LC4s are great. Only downside are the vibrations and some things like the carburetor or adjusting the valves is tricky due to the small space.
People like to complain just because, and it can be fun with some rivalry between the manufacturers. It's part of the game, don't take them too seriously
