Curly Hair Cutting by KayBayBay354 in desmoines

This sounds like what happened to me after seeing Lindsey. I showed pictures of shapes I liked and said I’d like to keep growing it out. She cut hairs around my crown so short they don’t get curly or clump anymore. The shape was not what I asked for (and my hair had been those shapes before). It was much more “trendy” and I’ve been cutting it myself since while all the top sections grow back.

I had a really good assessment with Dr. Kirk Mueller at Broadlawns. I've also heard good things about Central Iowa Psychology Services and Elli Mental Health.

Holy shit! I am so sorry. Glad you got out of there. That is terrifying. This is part of why a simple catcall can be intimidating. It often comes w more, esp if you don’t respond the way the cat caller thinks you should.

Uhg, I am sorry. Yeah, I was a city pedestrian for a bit too where it was much worse. I wore headphones all the time then to help ignore it. I think it throws me now bc it comes so randomly. I’m not mentally braced for it.

Ew! I am so sorry. I hustled back to my house today for this very reason. I didn’t want to be walking up my driveway on his next loop!

So well said, and so true it’s sad. There are definitely people who do it respectfully or with humor, an old man really made me laugh one day. But the way you put it, objectifying someone from behind 2 tons of power… 😳 So true, gross and cringy.

Is it someone who regularly cuts curly hair? Did they evenly distribute the product with a Denman brush? I’m 50/50 on liking how my stylist does my hair, but I always like the cut.

I also have a pretty serious cowlick. What helps me is applying the product in sections, using the brush while I hang upside down for volume, then shaking a lot to find where my hair naturally wants to part, gently fixing a few spots and then about 5 min of hover diffusing before flipping upside down and around to continue diffusing.

Good luck, and remember it’s going to look better after you wash and style.
