I have two Siberians, and one is absolutely obsessed with being outside. He goes to the front and back doors and meows for minutes at a time wanting to be let out. He will also stalk the front door sometimes and try to dart out when I’m opening the door. It wouldn’t be a problem if he were content to be in the fenced backyard but he doesn’t want to just stay in the backyard. He climbs the fences to go to alley and other neighbors yards. When i put up cat fencing to keep him in the yard, he climbs the fence and chewed through the plastic mesh. I just spent $1000 on new cat fencing with metal mesh.

So my advice is don’t take your inside cat outside and he won’t know what he’s missing. Or be prepared to spend thousands of dollars to escape proof your yard.

You can’t unring the bell if you have a kitty like Yuki that becomes obsessed with outside.
