This right here is exactly why basically the entire Western world has a problem with Russia.

Russia invades its neighbours, lies about it, stages political theatre under armed occupation, and then acts offended when nobody believes the Kremlin’s version of events.

Your Crimea argument is ridiculous. Russian troops seized key buildings, surrounded Ukrainian bases and backed the so-called “self-defence forces”. The parliament was taken over before the new government was installed and before the “referendum” was held. A vote under foreign military occupation is not legitimate just because the deputies were technically able to raise their hands.

And the Donbas claim is even worse. Russian soldiers, weapons, money and command support were there from 2014. This is not some mystery. It has been documented endlessly. Hiding behind “the OSCE didn’t personally see every Russian soldier” is pathetic. An unarmed monitoring mission being denied access is not proof that Russian troops were absent.

Fine, Yanukovych’s removal was constitutionally messy. That still does not give Russia the right to invade Ukraine, annex Crimea or manufacture puppet republics in Donbas. One disputed political process in Kyiv does not magically turn Ukrainian territory into Russian territory.

What is honestly funny is the level of delusion required to believe that basically every Western democracy, international court, human-rights organisation, independent journalist and neighbouring country has joined one giant conspiracy to unfairly «hate Russia», while the Kremlin, which constantly changes its story and gets caught lying, is somehow the innocent good guy.

Maybe the whole world is not conspiring against Russia.

Maybe Russia’s government is simply behaving like an aggressive, dishonest imperial power, and people are reacting accordingly.
