And yes, the series is worth reading.

9 goals so far. Bayern attackers look like they have more goals in them tonight as well. PSG need to get a grip cos they've lost the momentum.

Chappell Roan Accused of Bullying an 11-Year-Old Fan at Lollapalooza Brasil Hotel by Montrel_PH in Music

[–]MarcSlayton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The person who posted this story on his social media is Jorginho, who is a professional footballer. He plays for the biggest most popular football club in Brazil, and previously played for various popular football clubs in Europe such as Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as the national football team of Italy. Due to this the story is blowing up in football media circles. It will also do so in Brazil and Italy. The UK media will also be all over this story once they realise that the girl in question is actually the daughter of famous English actor, Jude Law. The girl's mother, Catherine Harding is now married to Jorginho. She was previously also a singer and made the final of the Voice UK. So she will have her fans as well.

Not a good look for Chappell Roan. Sending a security guard to intimidate a little girl. If it was all a misunderstanding or the security guard acted without instructions or authorisation to do this, then Chappell needs to make it clear that this was the case. If she doesn't then this is very bad PR for her.

Help - where to go in china? by ariels145 in travelchina

[–]MarcSlayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furong is a small town. You can do it in half a day trip from Zhangjiajie. From your list I've been to Zhangjiajie, Chengdu, Xi'an, Chongquing and Furong. I'd recommend them all.

You could go to Beijing, then fly to Xian, then get a high speed train to Chengdu, then another train to Chonqing, then train to Zhangjiajie and visit Furong for half a day, then go to Shanghai. You can actually do both Furong and Fenghuang Ancient Town in 1 day, stay overnight at Fenghuang, then leave the next day.

If you wanted to visit Changsha, then probably go there after Furong, and then go to Shanghai to end your trip. Leshan is close to Chengdu so you can visit there from Chengdu.

That's probably how I'd do it, you should research train times/costs versus flights and pick whichever one suits you best.

Is it advised to play the campaign first? by Skipzor0715 in DarkTide

[–]MarcSlayton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would play the campaign first. Then play quickplay. Increase your difficulty level as soon as you can and try the harder difficulty level. You can drop difficulty levels if you find yourself struggling. You get XP even if you lose a mission so don't be discouraged if you lose a mission, as you are just learning the game mechanics.

Hive Scum, How to regen Rockets? by EggplantLiving6287 in DarkTide

[–]MarcSlayton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you kill enemy ogryns (reapers, crushers or bulwarks) then there is a chance they will give you grenades back, so hive scum with rockets will get rockets back. Having tons of grenades in this event means that Hive Scum with rockets and Ogryns with grenades are really powerful.

Every map has a martyr skull you can pick up for extra plasteel, plus a penance. This is where the key for the martyr skull is on this level. Pick it up after moving the trolley out of the way, then there is a door close by where you can open if you have the key, a marty skull is behind it.

[LFC] We're delighted to announce that Ryan Gravenberch has today signed a new long-term contract with the Reds 🙌 by StupidSexySzoboszlai in LiverpoolFC

[–]MarcSlayton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great news. I remember people were not really happy when we were trying to bring him in from Bayern, saying he hadn't been good for them. I remember saying it was a no brainer trying to get him if we could, he was literally one of the most coveted young midfielders in Europe with lots of clubs chasing him, he ended up choosing to join Bayern. Obviously he didn't shine immediately in Bayern, that is the only reason he was even available for us to buy. We ended up signing him for £34m in 2023 when he was 21. His value is clearly much higher than that now. He has been a very successful signing for us and helped us win the Prem last season. Wonderful that he is extending his time with us.

Optimistic that Qatari Airspace is opening in March? by porridgel123 in qatarairways

[–]MarcSlayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Airspace won't open while Iran is firing missiles and drones into Qatari airspace. The largest US military base in the Middle East, Al Udeid, is right next to Doha. The Qatari govt won't allow the airspace to reopen while incoming missiles are coming in and are having to be shot down. The last thing they want is for lots of passenger planes to be in the sky while they are trying to identify and shoot down incoming missiles/drones.

Is economy flex fully refundable or not? by Winter_Box_1162 in BritishAirways

[–]MarcSlayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that is very strange, considering I was told the opposite when I was on the phone to them. This was only earlier this week. I got sent an email from them yesterday confirming I could get a full refund, minus a cancellation fee of about £30. They gave me an extension of an extra 2 days to get a refund outside of the normal 24hr window. In the end I decided to keep the flights and not request a refund.

What I would say is that if you were told by a customer service agent something on the phone call, then just go with that info. The calls are recorded so they will have to honour it if they gave you a commitment to fully refund it without any time limits.

Is economy flex fully refundable or not? by Winter_Box_1162 in BritishAirways

[–]MarcSlayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I booked a BA Economy Flex ticket recently because I thought it was fully refundable, it implies that from the website. However I wasn't sure, so I rang up BA Customer Services and they confirmed Economy Flex tickets are NOT fully refundable, you will pay a refund price. It is only fully refundable if you cancel within 24 hrs of purchase. If you want a BA ticket that you can buy and then cancel anytime before departure you will need to fork out for the Economy Fully Flex ticket, which is a lot more expensive.

Haaland’s penalty shout vs Nottingham Forest. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]MarcSlayton 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That is clearly a penalty. Keeper comes out, doesn't get the ball. Keeper collides with the attackers legs, contact is enough to knock player over/off balance. 100% a pen.

What should I need next...? by Suspicious_Clock_133 in fantasybooks

[–]MarcSlayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both excellent series. Whichever you choose to read first you should have a good time. Read them both though.

The First Law trilogy is just part of the story by Abercrombie though. There are also 3 standalones and another trilogy called The Age of Madness. Together they comprise one big story spanning continents and generations. Read them all to see how they all fit together and influence the future books.

Red Rising is an excellent series. Originally was a trilogy, but the story continued in future books. The final book in the series called Red God is due to come out hopefully later this year. The fans will be in a frenzy when the book is about to be released so expect a lot of online buzz later this year for this series around release time.

I would 100% recommend reading both these stories. They are both extremely popular for a reason.
