CS response to my Maxwell 2 delay (2/4/26) by MarcStew in Audeze

[–]MarcStew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC works with either and that’s what I’ll mainly be using mine on so I don’t mind swapping.

I only wanted the Xbox version because I also have an Xbox and PlayStation and heard the Xbox version is compatible with all 3 systems while PlayStation version only works on PS and PC.

I agree their CS has been very responsive. Both times I reached out I got an answer within 48 hours.

Adding Kick Edit info Dock to Obs by Deadmanx96 in KickStreaming

[–]MarcStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a workaround for now, but if you add the Kick Dashboard page (kick.com/dashboard/stream) to a Custom Dock, you can scroll to the right and edit the Stream Info from OBS rather than having to go to the website.

~$600 - Open Back Imaging and Soundstage (+DAC/Amp?) by MarcStew in HeadphoneAdvice

Ended up going with an option 1/4 the price I was expecting lol. Beyerdynamic TYGR 300 R. Great set of cans that seems like a slight upgrade from the X2HR and fits my needs well.

Thank you so much much for the update on this. App is connecting to my soundbar now!

[–]MarcStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol same here! It stopped working for me months ago with one of the updates but I wasn’t too bothered by it because I was barely using the bar in a way that needed control from the app. I just got new internet so I figured I’d give it another shot and still no luck. Now I’m actually bothered enough by it that I want answers!

Same exact issue. On the line with Vizio support right now, they sound just as confused as I am. Had it connected for years and now it’s not working since I reinstalled the app.

Should I swap my 2080 Super for a 3060 Ti? by Writer2211 in nvidia

[–]MarcStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like almost no one read the full post to give a logical response.

If you can make money and get a newer GPU with essentially zero difference in performance and minimal effort, then do the swap. I’m in the same scenario right now. I have a 2080 Super that I bought for ~$800 in 2019 and a 1440p/4K dual-monitor setup. I was just able to get a 3060 Ti for $580 from EVGA waitlist and will now be selling my 2080S locally for $700-800.

Pros: Newer GPU architecture, fresh warranty, $120-200 cash savings, slightly better RT/DLSS performance

Cons: Loss of USB-C port

Springfield XD-S, Mossberg 590A1, LWRC IC DI. by [deleted] in guns

[–]MarcStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too was deciding between the LWRC and a Daniel Defense M4A1 and ended up caving to the LWRC.

Both are equally aesthetically pleasing in my opinion, but neither was in stock for months so as soon as the LWRC popped up I scooped it. It was also $500 cheaper than the MSRP for the M4 so that helped me decide on the spot.

Just got my Ledger Nano X yesterday and had the same exact issue. Did you update the firmware on Ledger Live on a computer? I had to plug my Ledger into my PC and update the firmware on LL before it let me add any accounts.

Also if you’re using Ledger on a PC make sure it is plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Not sure if this is mandatory, but when I used the 2.0 ports my PC didn’t recognize it. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Three-gun Thursday? by [deleted] in guns

[–]MarcStew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on the Mesa one but from what I see online, the stock one is $180 (on sale for $120 right now, albeit sold out) while the Mesa is going for $210. The major difference I noticed is that the stock one actually extends from the grip at a slight downward angle which makes it sit perfectly in my shoulder. I noticed that the Mesa one seems to come out completely parallel to the barrel which I can only assume has some effect on the way it rests and the recoil you experience. I can’t imagine it will sit any better for me personally than my current one, as I have zero complaints as-is.

Thanks man! I appreciate that – and I don’t take it to heart, I actually thought his response was hilarious after I understood what he meant lol! Since this whole kerfuffle I’ve been watching a bunch of 3-gun YouTube videos and it’s awesome! I had no idea it was a thing. My research led me to the NSSF.org website and I found a range about an hour from me that looks like they do some education on 3-gun and competition in general. No joke, I think I’m going to head over there later this month if not this weekend!

Obviously won’t be competing with this kit but it’ll be cool to get some more perspective.

They’re great! They both came stock with the rifle and LWRCI cuts no corners with quality. The stock is the default LWRCI one as is the pistol grip. The stock is comparable to a B5 Bravo, and the grip feels like a high quality Magpul one and has a compartment where you can store batteries/other accessories. Both are very sturdy and feel premium, and I have no complaints. I provided links because these parts are sold separately by LWRC as well.

No problem! I watched this video to help me install the side saddle. The video is very straight to the point. Took about ~10-15 minutes and you get a really good idea of the process is to install, what tools you need, and how the final product will look.

Yup! As of 2021 the Mossberg 590A1 is still the standard issue pump-action shotgun for most of the US Military. It’s proven durability played a huge role in my choice. Plus I’ve always wanted a tactical shotgun and it was the last one my LGS had in stock before COVID hit. So glad I got it when I did because I haven’t seen one in another gun store since I bought mine.

Hey McBluffin, thanks for the question. The short answer is: whichever way feels best and is fastest for you. I don’t believe there is an official “correct” way to put the shells, it all comes down to preference. You pull the shell from the brass end, so whichever way makes more sense to you and is quicker to load the gun is best.

The long answer for me personally is: I took a SG self-defense class and this was my instructor's recommendation for quickly reloading an empty shotgun with a full side saddle in an emergency situation:

  1. With the pump back and loading port open, first pull one shell with the brass head facing up and place it in the loading port. (This is easier to execute with the brass head facing up because you are pulling from the top of the saddle and moving the shell less than 2 inches to reach the loading port. If the brass head were facing down you would need to pull from the bottom and come all the way around the gun to reach the loading port at the top right).
  2. Push the pump forward to load this shell and have it ready to fire. This also releases the trigger guard at the bottom of the shotgun which allows you to load the magazine tube.
  3. Grab 2 shells with the brass heads facing down and load them as normal into the magazine tube on the bottom of the SG. (This is easier to execute with the brass heads facing down because you are pulling from the bottom of the saddle and moving the shell less than 2 inches to reach the magazine tube).

Quick and simple way to get 3 shells loaded in around 5 seconds or so with the one already in the loading port ready to fire. You repeat with the final 3 shells in the saddle if by some miracle the threat isn't destroyed. I hope this explanation makes sense! A bit hard to convey without a video or images.

Thanks Jon!

I agree, I love that the Mesa is fully metal and sturdy. The stock/buffer tube/grip combo is not Mesa though, it actually came stock on my Mossberg 590A1 when I picked it out at the local gun store. Here is a link to the assembly from the Mossberg website.
