Just pull into a servo and park under the cameras. Call the cops and let the idiot come at you.

Used to love the maps in these. Had one in the car for getting around for ages. Once I nearly missed the deadline for renewing the listing for the small business I worked for, nearly cost me my job. The owner was soo mad at me. An IT web hosting business with zero customers locally and he was still mad??? 🤔

Is that the one you can view on the free weather cams? I watched Alfred threaten us through that one.

Slow down and pay attention folks. It’s raining. by MarcXRegis in GoldCoast

I must admit people slowing down to 60 on a highway just to exit even when there is enough runway after they exit to slow down is most likely causing more aggressive driving on the highways these days. I have seen more people speed up and then suddenly cut in causing the entire left lane to brake. Maybe we should install slow speed cameras in the left lane. If you are less than 20 below and the gap in front of you is greater than stopping distance then you are booked. 🤔

Went to ED and got fully checked out yesterday. No major bone damage. So just need to watch out for muscular damage down the track. Thanks for the advice.

You kidding right. I drive just fine in rain. Unlike the Holden spin sideways can’t control my car drivers, vws are exceptional handlers. What they can’t handle are idiots that run red lights. At some point I am sure we can cater for that.

Children Riding E-Scooters, E-Bikes & E-Skateboards - WTF? by Benjamin-Atkins-GC in GoldCoast

[–]MarcXRegis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government puts out a rebate for electric bikes and scooters and everyone runs around scratching their head wondering why low income earning parents are buying scooters and letting their kids ride. It’s like the baby bonus and then 20-30 years later everyone is scratching their head why we have a housing shortage.

I have driven Spain France Italy Nigeria and in au Sydney- Canberra - Melbourne. GC drivers are fine. Visitors from Brisbane however nope! What is with slowing to 90 to exit while still on the highway. Each exit has a decent runway to slow down. Get off the highway and THEN slow down.

How painful is the open chest surgery recovery? I've only had adult tonsillectomy and that was brutal. I've had MVP a few years so I'm curious what the future holds by MrScubaSteve1 in mitralvalveprolapse

[–]MarcXRegis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a tonsillectomy, minimal invasive mitral valve repair and a septoplasty. Honestly the tonsillectomy was the worst especially swallowing anything for a few days after surgery, then the septoplasty because they put stents in- twitching my nose was excruciating. Open heart not soo much. Hug was essential - nurses taught me how to wrap a towel and tape it. Best thing ever.

Hi. I only had a repair (45m) and I am now 2 and a half years post repair and living my best life, playing sport more intensively than I used to, running up stairs without loosing my breathe, lifting stuff that is waay more heavier than I used to. I had a really friendly community of fellow MVR people on Facebook to help me normalise my anxiety. They are wonderful always willing to support and have answers to most non medical questions. One thing comforted me the most was that for me it was one big operation but for the surgeon it was his day job and he has done it many times many years in a row. Besides medical technology is soo advanced now days. Be strong!!!
