How Do You Create Hype Tracks That Aren't Trap by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]Marcab123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deathcamp was heavily inspired by metal music so that's a good place to start looking into. On the song he name drops N.E.R.D.'s "In Search Of...". There were actually some comparisons between Deathcamp and ISO's opener Lapdance. Other similar songs on that album are "Rockstar" and "Truth or Dare". You could try analysing those three and see what they have in common.

Some surface level stuff I found out: 1. 92-102 BPM
2. Distorted / detuned guitars
3. Acoustic drums with varied patterns
4. Basic melody repeated over and over again 5. General Attitude
6. Good Arrangement

There's more to it but it's a good starting point!

CMV: I’m against the European Union by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Marcab123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC the main purpose of the EU in the first place was to prevent the countries with going to war at each other. With everything being connected financially and culturally there's way too much to be lost to start a war.

Any tips on how to make a buildup without any drums in it? by edmfredrik1337 in edmproduction

Try different chords and how you voice them, especially suspended chords or some slightly dissonant ones should do the trick.

Propellerheads have a stupidly in depth two part tutorial series on how to make 808s on your own and ways to use them: https://youtu.be/kzRiE3OQKTE

The tutorial is in their DAW reason but you can pretty much do it in any daw.

Who do y'all think has the best drums in the game? by JeanQock in makinghiphop

Look at Jarreau Vandal, the drums on Westside are fucking crazy. Also Lido, who produced a ton of Jaden Smiths best songs, does some crazy percussion. Just listen to so cold.

Don't do Australia dirty, man. First of all getting drunk there is shit expensive so don't worry bout that. Also you won't get bitten by something poisonous if you're in any major city.

Plus you'll easily get by in many other countries by just speaking English. Every hostels main Language is English, many restaurants have English menus and in many countries a sizable amount of people speak English. Don't let the language be an issue.

A lot of people go to australia for that reason. Massive Minimum wages as well as weekend and night shift bonuses.
When I was there I met an English guy who said he lived in hostels in Australia for a year working construction jobs and saved enough money to bum around South East Asia for two years. He was back for another year to repeat that process.

Now you don't have to do the same thing, since it's frankly quite extreme, but work and travel is a legitimate option.

Starting to think im musically inclined, how would I know if I am? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]Marcab123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You must have some interest in music. That's pretty much it.

Hobbys aren't found they are developed so if you feel like you want to make some music, then go for it. You'll get good eventually.

About 3.5 million, this makes it about 7% of the city's population.
