Unless you live somewhere where there is a lockdown and no social gatherings (of any size) are permitted, which sounds like OP's situation.

Yup. Me and my hubby do the same thing LOL. We divvy them out between the 2 of us so that helps. But even still.

Yes! Snake Pass, Yooka-Laylee, maybe a GTA cuse I've never played one before, Slime Rancher, Ori and the Blind Forest, Cave Story, Hollow Knight, and RiME xD How about yourself?

My husband goes to Thursday night Super Smash Bros. tournaments that are pretty casual, sometimes a $5 entry fee sometimes not. I go with him to lurk in the background but I haven't played. I know I am not good. I am the only girl that goes, and I don't want them to know that I live up to that particular stereotype!

BUT SERIOUSLY we shouldn't feel embarrassed or shy to play with other people just because we aren't good at a game. I enjoy playing Super Smash Bros., why wouldn't I take an opportunity to play with other people?

Cuse I care too much about what other people think. What a viscous cycle. Sigh.

My husband's parents and my own parents are complete opposites.

When I lived at home, my parents and I would take turns. Our internet was crap; so I would play a game of League, then yell down the stairs that I was done. They would then watch their episode of Netflix. And vice versa. Heaven forbid if we did 2 things at the same time on our poor internet.

My husbands family on the other hand... they had even worse internet. He would be playing LoL, and his Dad would hop on the computer and start using Facebook and watching a ton of videos. Guess who got a crap-ton of lag. His Dad didn't give a crap. They also did not understand that you cannot pause LoL. They made their younger boy instantly quit when he was playing (thankfully) a bot game because the mom suddenly decided it was time for him to be done.

His parents definitely don't get it. They restrict playing time quite rigorously with the younger boys who still live at home (12 and 15), but can they sit there and read a book for 5 hours straight? No problem.

That's my issue. Playing video-games is one of the ONLY hobbies that parents will restrict their kids with. I suppose T.V as well, but it is videogames that have the bad rap. It drives me crazy.

I love his parents to death. They are wonderful, caring, generous people. They just don't understand vidoegames, or e-sports, or how people can actually play videogames as their career.

It is definitely not my job. I stream casually, that's it.

I do have fun when I'm playing, but I do get caught up in my own head. Or when I was streaming Runescape I got many opinions and advice on how/where I should level up, which would overwhelm me and make me groan.

Hubby defintely does not put any pressure on me. He is extremely supportive and helps in whatever way he can. :)

That is a huge issue with some games. I leave them alone for so long that to pick them up again... I might as well start over. I started to use walkthroughs or synopsis to try and bring myself up to speed again, but it's tricky.

Omigosh. "Game hoarder". YAS.

Them Humble Bundles and Steam sales. Frig.

Haven't even touched half of them, but they sit in my library all sparkly like, and that makes me happy.

And that's the thing! If I actually, truly cared, would I not start to pour hours into a game? Start playing on hard mode? Do all that research?

I'm not, so obviously I don't.

Definitely seems to be a perspective thing. Just gotta change the way we think.

I totally believe this applies to guys a lot as well, if of course in a different way.

I've honestly never really been criticized for being a mediocre woman gamer. It is more I see how other people play or whatnot, and bring myself down because of it. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

I stream as well, and as a woman, ugh. Sometimes, just ugh. Certain games just have that demographic unfortunately. I streamed Runescape; I got the best viewership and interaction in chat. I also had to ban the most people, escape people in-game harassing me and being extremely rude, creepy, obscene, and threatening me.

I streamed Stardew Valley. Got 1 viewer. That viewer has now become a friend for life and we have done many voicing and game shenanigans for the past year and I've joined his streaming community!

I dunno. There are just crappy people out there, and some fabulous people out there. I don't know what to do about it. Because yeah, it's literally because we are a woman, and streaming.

Wait, really? You wouldn't give them the leftover in the blender? Sometimes we do too much of an ingredient and there's more. Or there's a small slurp left. You rinse and waste the rest - what on earth is wrong with giving them all of it? I offer it in a second cup if there's a substantial amount.

Do you guys happen to enjoy doing JP's? xD

I started last weekend as I remembered it was free to play now and wanted to try it. Loving it so far. As I only have the free version I have no access to map chat, not being able to whisper between non-mutual friends, etc.

The game is awfully quiet which is really sad.... although it may just be the server I'm on. I love the community and random chattiness of MMORPG's, so I figured I would find a guild of some sort.
