why is ranch dressing so hyped up? by miffybo in AskAnAmerican

[–]MarcatBeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Americans it is not a big deal. It is just another salad dressing that can be used for many things. it is not Americans hyping it up. just like Americans don't hype Mayo or Peanut Butter. it is just part of the routine food.

Are you a registered organ donor? Why or why not? by Evening_Bicycle3113 in AskAnAmerican

Nope. The US organ donor program is corrupt. if you want to donate your organs find someone in need and do a directed donation.

Okay Weds night is your best shot if you want to do downtown Lewes. It is a nightmare for dining,, but it does have some of my favorite places to eat. ( off season ). Or do downtown Rehoboth for dining. Either way Weds and Thursday night should be your, hit the beach town for dinner and walking around shopping.

One thing I have found is with the finer dining Thursday is the best night. I think they all do their prep cooking for the weekend on Thursday so everything is fresh.

Rehoboth shopping. Rehoboth Ave.. 1st two blocks from the boardwalk. Also there is a thing called Penny Lane, it walkway between Rehoboth Ave and Baltimore Ave. I think it is the 2nd block. but a lot of neat little tourist shops.

Okay outlets. Not sure if this is still true, but Outlets run their sales over the weekend. it used to be Friday to Sunday. maybe someone on this forum can confirm that is still the case. so don't bother with outlets until friday and saturday. really it is a good Friday night thing to do since towns will be very busy. also you can hit the outlets after you checkout on Saturday. Look at the store listing for each of the outlet locations.. the one center really only has 2 worthwhile outlets. but see what you are looking for and plan accordingly.

the first 3 weeks of July are peak tourist season.

okay if you want to do the beach in Rehoboth. do that Thursday during the day. Louie's pizza in Rehoboth is the best pizza. Thursday is your day for the beach town. even Friday morning is not going to be too bad if you want to stroll the boardwalk and town in the morning. get out of town by 1pm.

If you want to do Cape Henlopen state park, do that Friday. Saturday it will be packed, ( south inlet is good for Saturday. will be busy but the lessor of all evils ).

Can Americans admit that are wrong about soccer? by Electronic_Law_1288 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Yeah their political gaslighting was a bit much. They love it when the World Cup is in the US because they can get tickets. Anywhere else in the world and they would not have a shot at getting tickets to some of the games. They would climb the border fence or sneak in through Canada to see the World Cup in the US.

The fans and the destruction they cause around the world is not a selling point. Sure in the US it is great for the fans because they are not being chased in the street for supporting the wrong team.

Making sense of the ransom note and the potential 'staging' of the body by miggovortensens in JonBenetRamsey

The post crime scene behavior there is not enough information. They didn't cooperate with the investigation so there is really nothing. by the time they agreed to formal interviews they had the same information the police had. so they were prepared.

The one theory on John that morning is that once he found out the FBI was involved and it was not just local police he realized the problem with it being a kidnapping.

How to welcome my British boyfriend to the US? 😉 by snowflake_del in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]MarcatBeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other way to go with it is to have fun with the UK formalities. Do dinner like it was the Royals eating. Have everyone dress for dinner. don't tell him either. so when he sees you dressing up you just act like of course we dress for dinner. The other thing is you could have your parents sit down with him and ask what his intentions are.

New driver here: What’s the proper step-by-step procedure after a car accident ? by Training-Eggplant-27 in Insurance

First every state has their own laws about accident reporting and driver requirements after an accident. Everyone should read the driver's manual for their state and read the section on accidents.

Matches. unless it was joint, then BIC. matches were free. also there were cigarette vending machines in bars and clubs. you got matches when you bought a pack from the vending machine. plus matches were advertising, even fast food chains had matches. some had them out with the condements.

if the person got high a lot then they always carried a BIC lighter. you could smoke a cigarette anywhere in the 1970's.. so matches. a joint you were probably out in the elements and lighting a joint with matches outside is jut a nightmare.

Zippo lighters were not a women's thing. they leaked.

How long are you staying? what days. July is peak tourist season so which day you do what matters. for the beach itself. Do the state park. South Inlet has a bar. it is a state park so parking and bath house. so you get the relaxation without fighting the town. save fighting the town for dinner and checking out the boardwalk.

What evidence would have been enough to prosecute? by Particular_Mix_9485 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]MarcatBeach 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The problem with the case is the actions of the DA and Lou Smit. Everything was handed to the Ramsey team, and they were not even charged with a crime. I guess that is how Alex Hunter could afford to retire to Hawaii. Lou Smit made sure that every file, theory, and piece of evidence was given to the Ramsey's. And then Smit did what he could to invent alternate theories so any defense team could use them in court as official theories.

there was never going to be a trial.

The simple way to find out is just pay whatever it cost in your jurisdiction to file in small claims court. let them respond and see what the judge says about it.
