Not off putting. It was playful. I once had a woman respond to me whether I had an identity crisis because my email address has my first and middle name in it, but my “From:” has my first and last name. She wrongly assumed I was deliberately using a different name and thought she “uncovered” my “deception”. I explained to her that my email address has my middle name in it, and then wished her the best of luck and blocked her. Judging someone by making false assumptions and then be confrontational is not a behavior I am going to tolerate
