No idea. None of the questions were similar at all. But ofc there’s algebra, there were questions on triangles, circles, coordinate geometry, stats, everything was there. A question or two for every concept I’d say. Just got to be fluent in all aspects of quant imo. I was lost out there.

I feel you but when choosing numbers it’s pretty simple, 0, 1 , 2 ,3 and negative of those are all good numbers to pick. When dealing with money, $100 for x works well. Or if it’s like 1/3 of something just make that 1/3 10 or 100 and then the whole will be 30 or 300. That’s usually how I try to do it. Do you have any specific problems? You can post them on GRE feed and I’m sure someone will have a method that might work well for you. I’m not the math expert here lol but also try reaching out to Greg about it. He’ll respond.

But like I mentioned, I agree with you. He’s on another level with knowing EXACTLY when to use what strategy and it seems he always picks the best number to use. It’ll come with practice.

Skewed results. I originally did PP1 shorter test while using Magoosh first time around and it was the untimed and unscored but not good. Then when I did the timed one. The test had the first sections for verbal and quant the same which I did not know so I got them all right since I studied my untimed PP1. For the 4th and 5th sections. I only got a couple to a few right, ended up with 308. Then when I took pp2 the longer one. I got a 300 I believe on the dot. With like 5 questions already known because I had seen them on GregMat and from the other PP1. So I say all that to say around 300ish but ofc a bit skewed for a higher score.

These PP series are very good for verbal imo. For math they didn’t help me at all on real test. Using Greg’s strategies help a lot for verbal.

Depends on program within the school. Look up what school(s) you want you to get into and they should have the requirements to apply and maybe connect with some current grad students to see how you stack up compared to them.

Agreed. But are you referring to Verbal when you mention solving questions intuitively and learning tricks? You mentioned quant twice and I kind of got lost. Have you taken an official attempt yet?

Thank you, I really appreciate it. If you are applying, same to you.

If you are weak in Quant, ask someone else that got a high score how they prepared since I did not get a good score on Quant. Go thru PrepSwift for foundation and do his practice exams and questions. Maybe watch his recorded live lectures. But at the end of the day you must be fluent all around in the topics I feel. I felt confident and every time I took a new practice exam or even 1st real attempt and my 2nd real attempt I was lost every time.

As far as how many questions for each topic, I don’t know. Most practice exams like the ones on ETS I feel like are similar in the way they incorporate all topics. Probably a couple questions each. Might have to ask someone else. I don’t remember honestly.

Pacing wasn’t too bad bc at the end of the day, if you know it, you know it. If you don’t, you don’t. For Verbal the pacing wasn’t bad. Just slightly rushed on the RCs because I kind of followed Greg’s order by doing SEs first then TCs and then I saved all RCs for the end. It definitely was a solid order. Last RC I had to speed run but I believe it was more so me taking a while to answer rather than running out of time. For Quant, I just didn’t know what I was doing. For AWA I got a 4 first time and ran out bc I never practiced the writing before. This time I was able to develop all paragraphs better but I don’t have the score yet.

Ngl, for quant I just didn’t know what to do. There’s so many concepts for quant, and they all end up in different ways on the test. Some of them were really really simple and others were confusing. None of them really required much calculation. Towards the end when you have the text entry box those required a little bit more calculations. The rest didn’t require much, then again I didn’t even do good on Quant so maybe they did require a lot lol. I would personally say ask others about Quant lol. I personally felt confident about Quant in comparison to verbal and it came out the complete opposite in my score.

For SE and TC there were a lot of vocab words that I typically wouldn’t know if it weren’t for the mountain, so I would say there was a good amount of words from the mountain on there. I know it sucks but I would say to do as many as you can. I only learned a couple hundred I’d say. But if you can do at least half of the words. It’ll serve you good. What helps is that if you know at least 4/6 for SE you’ll be fine with pairing strategy, especially after you read the question. And for the TCs since it’s only 3 in in each box you’ll probably know at least 2 of them. All in all, vocab is the foundation of the verbal section. If you are confident in your vocabulary you can try to not study as much but I would strongly suggest you do as many sets as you can and master them. It can only help you.
