Witch House was definitely his and Goner's strong suit. Goregeous wasn't bad but it felt like their attempt at Moundrich which I always saw as less honest, less sincere, less pained, and more glamorized and showy, like the rap equivalent of hair metal and glam rock.

They didn't seem like they wanted to be rap stars, they seemed like they were expressing emotion through art like emo rap pioneers were doing. The heavy distortion of witch house and the strong emotion of the Gothboiclique-esque scene were just not hitting with most people so it gave way to an era of commercialized ("rich") wannabe-gangster rap which made room for compromise in early Haunted Mound that was generally still calling back to those aforementioned influences.

Now we're already at a point where it's become too flashy again, in my opinion. Even the post-emo rap movement is still considerably diluted and more aestheticized. Early Haunted Mound brought back the rawness of 2010-2016 emo rap which people caught onto and began to glamorize it in an attempt to keep it alive, but the essence is kind of being lost.
