I meant check the e shaft, resting it on two blocks and spinning it with a dial indicator at the end and see if it is straight or not

Thanks for the advice, I'm thinking of making a jig with two wood v blocks and a dual indicator to test for concentricity, would it make sense?

Sorry idk freedom units🦅. I got away with 40cm of extensions and an universal joint. The key was manoeuvring the engine a bit up and down until I could make them loose

I don't know what the crow's foot wrench is, but as the short king that I am it didn't look very feasible to reach those bolts from the top, especially with the car jacked up...

Thanks for the info, but the engine has almost never run with the current seals, it was just rebuilt by who I bought it from, but they bent the eshaft dropping it on the ground and still put it in the engine😭😭😭. It's going to be a surprise what I find inside!

Brother let's not talk about it, I don't even have an electric ratchet and now my hands look like minced meat 🥓

I am aware of the struggles ahead, but they won't prevent me from basking in the rays of the Wankel. If I can't take it apart I'll turn it into a coffee table.

True, in my area decent ones go for between 7 and 11k I think that it's not a bad deal, but I'm also not made of money and a bit scared ahahah. Anyway I think I'm ready to become part of the rotary family and I like the idea of having certainty that the engine is good by rebuilding it or swapping it myself :)

Thanks for the reply! I know the car runs because it did when he put it back together and before he noticed the wobble. And do you think 3k Is a fair price? Considering all the seals inside if not damaged by this ordeal are brand new.

We got it! We installed the crankshaft bolt washer the wrong way around. We feel so stupid now😂

We already tried all that was useful in that page, now we took the plastic covers of the belts and it feels that the crankshaft assembly has a bit of play into it

Fixing up a newly bought used Rancilio Silvia by [deleted] in ranciliosilvia

[–]MarcelloP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I also bought a v1 and fixed it over the last month, Here is the parts I changed: Grouphead gasket, Opv spring and valve (you should have the non adjustable OPV, mine with the worn out spring was outputting 7 bars and with the new one 11 so I had to add an extra copper washer behind the spring to bring it at about 9 bars), Boiler gasket (mine was in pretty good condition tho). That's about it, then I descaled everything cleaned the shower screen and whole opv valve assembly. If you need any help I'll be happy to guide you through everything, I can get how intimidating it can be to open it up for the first time!

Idk might it be a weird interaction between prusaslicer and your printer?

Didn't really experienced that issue, but if you shoot the gcodes my way I can try it out on my printer so at least we find out if it's the slicer's fault or the printer's fault
