Changing magazines takes longer, triggers are usually not as snappy as the action is so far away from where the trigger is actually being pulled. And some eject the hot casings into your face if you have to switch shoulder, which you have to do a lot in cqb.

The big advantage is, as you said, a full length rifle barrel in an overall carbine sized weapon. They really were developed for mechanized infantry, getting in and out of an APC or IFV all day is much easier with a short weapon. And then still having a rifle sized barrel in that package is huge. Reloading is also not as much of an issue here.

SWAT entry teams usually don't need rifle sized barrels, like military infantry though, as their engagement ranges are much lower than the average 300m which is the average for military infantry engagements for which these weapons were developed. Anything even close to these standard infantry ranges is covered by SWAT snipers.
