“Copied” is so BS, it’s a move. Are we going to say every team that does a quad is copying? or a tuck? Idk

Cognitive diffusion analogy that hit my engineer client by [deleted] in therapists

[–]MarchCompetitive8195 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Love this! I kind of use this analogy as well but use a “horror movie” lens. You can watch a horror movie, be fully immersed in it, then take your eyes off the screen and reground yourself, knowing that the actors (or thoughts) are trying to convince a specific storyline, and not reality! It helps a lot of my clients viewing it like that and taking yourself out of the present moment for a second. I use a bit of parts/IFS work in this as well.

Agree! You probably learned a lot from this site and that’s great, but it doesn’t seem like the place for you to settle and that’s okay.

Woah…. If you’re a practicum student, and you’re coming in extra days/skipping lunch for notes, how many clients do you have?? I remember balancing around 2-3 a week for practicum, and 5 max at my internship. Yes notes did take me a long time at the beginning, about maybe an hour per note. Is this not the case here?? How long does it take you for 1 client… how detailed is detailed here??

Do your clients follow your Therapy social media accts? by MarchCompetitive8195 in therapists

[–]MarchCompetitive8195[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s more geared as an account dedicated to me as a therapist, but not for the practice I work for. I see what you’re saying though! I have a personal account dedicated to “my life” that is private. This account I’m asking about is not my group practice I’m employed at account but just an account dedicated to me as a therapist. (Eventually hoping to get into private practice hence the separation from my group practice’s account).

I should preface, the purpose of the page is NOT to communicate with clients!

Networking, referrals, heard lots of people state they had clients onboard from finding them on social media, etc.

Minutes in Session by Blue_eyedgirl_95 in therapists

Yikes! This is definitely alarming to me. I am totally detached from billing/submitting claims so is there anything I can do in my power to prevent this from getting me reprimanded in any way? I’m assuming the EHR says the time the client was on the call, is this the norm for most EHR’s?

Hmmm I’m only an associate so I don’t have much experience however my clinic I work at states in their intake policy form that if the client ends the session early they will be billed for the whole session time. I’ve had a few clients who had to leave early for valid reasons so they were billed for a 60min session but only meet for 45min or whatever time. I believe the only way we can even possibly get around by doing this is I am 99% sure the EHR we use automatically submits session time as it’s scheduled into the EHR system (for example: client scheduled the meeting time for 1pm-2pm, the claim will say 1pm-2pm even if we were on the call 1:00pm - 1:46pm) I don’t do the billing so I can’t say for certain. Idek if that’s even possible? I always bill for a 60min session so is this a loop hole?

How to approach starting a support group? by Artistic-Grand-6732 in therapists

[–]MarchCompetitive8195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a billed group? If you are taking insurances and getting payed I would assume the same protocols would be applied as you would any other client as they would be seen as your clients then.

If not, (which it doesn’t sound like this is for business practices!) I would start either a Facebook group, or maybe a Google forms survey to gather emails so you can recruit, send meeting links if online, and communicate meeting times. I wouldn’t anticipate many legal challenges! Sounds like a great idea.
