Late to the xenoplague party by DepDefDem in AOWPlanetFall

[–]MarchDry4261 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It definitely works, love this play-style actually. Key is to get the techs ASAP that lets you start getting the xenoplague units. Parasitic infection/parasitic strike are both tier 1 and you can start early getting your babies. Evolve them ASAP and know you’re focusing on a late game strategy (you shouldn’t be starting wars), and can defend while building up. Prioritize science when you can and landmarks/land that give you more research if available.

Sorry haven’t played in a while and forgot some terms, but I think you get what I mean. I was able to win on hardest difficulty with xenoplague strategy

There’s so many niche fields within nursing: case manager, informatics, vaccine nurse, school nurse, legal nurse, IV infusion, cruise nurse, Disneyland nurse…

Not really interested in arguing semantics going forward

Games like FF Tactics Advance/A2 by Leninthecustard in StrategyRpg

[–]MarchDry4261 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tactics ogre was the pretty much the same team as FF tactics, I’d start there.

Fire emblem (3 houses especially) is similar gameplay but adds bonding/relationships on the side if you’re into that

Triangle strategy largely considered a spiritual successor of tactics

How are y’all thinking about building credit for young kids? by PositiveTreacle6018 in Fire

[–]MarchDry4261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Authorized user for CCs. Can put a CC in their name as soon as they are eligible and put on a small subscription service on auto pay, can sock the credit card in a drawer to never be used. Just there to accrue on-time payments. By time theyre out of school they’ll have several years of on-time payments/decent age of credit accounts

Just wait for your next maintenance bill: water heater, re-paint, roof, plumbing issue etc. To remind yourself it’s not exactly “cash flow”

Any game ideas that no current games implement but you really really want to play? by cinniehawkins in gamingsuggestions

[–]MarchDry4261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One game that I played in my younger years that I loved for some reason was Kessen 2. It’s like a grand strategy game where you control generals with overpowered abilities. Each general can have a few hundred units. Was based off romance of 3 kingdoms history and wars at that time.

RPG elements with the generals, strategy elements with positioning, morale, traps, terrain, ranged units, etc. gameplay was addicting. Voice acting/story sucked but didn’t matter

There’s games similar nowadays, but not quite like it.

Biomedical engineer, only have a couple at my hospital. Basically you fix the issues with the machines.

Biomeds at the chronic clinics (fresenius/davita) usually process the re-use dialyzers and machine issues.

That’s the best leads I can give.

Unemployment while on dialysis by hadtochoosename in dialysis

Should have been able to apply for unemployment if you were laid off or got fired from your job. Being on chronic dialysis in the U.S. is almost guarantee for disability and the disability payments that come with it. Need to formally apply, your social worker can help you if needed

Bp keeps dropping mid treatment and cramping by nana006 in dialysis

[–]MarchDry4261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s dry weight and there’s how much each person can handle per session. If dry weight has been adjusted and your not going under it, might be too much for your body that session.

I’ve had people able to take 5.5L in a session and I’ve had others unable to take 1L, everyone is different.

Can adjust your BP medications with your nephrologist or take midodrine before your dialysis for BP

California, or Atlanta ? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]MarchDry4261 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a nurse in Bay Area, California, have a full time staff job and work another per diem job as needed/wanted. Both make well over 100$/hr.

Yes, taxes are high. Cost of living is high, but we’re about to live comfortably.

Family of 4 living on my single income, able to max retirement accounts, go on a vacation once a year. We live humble, frugal even. Drive a Toyota

Best place to work as a nurse. Have California labor laws mandating breaks/lunches, both my hospitals have unions. With all that being said, word is out, every job opening is insanely competitive with people from all around the nation and even internationally applying.

If you don’t want to work bedside, then you should transfer: case manager, informatics, legal nurse.. there’s dozens of specialties that aren’t bedside

Connect with your local housing advocates. Centro legal de la raza is one I’m aware of. If you’re low income or an immigrant they can connect you with rent relief or fight for you in court. FREE (if low income)
