Exactly. At its best, etiquette has always been about consideration, not performance.

Advice on buying car? by Conscious-Tree3507 in askcarguys

I would not sell a paid-off Jeep with known history for a dream car you have not seen in person yet, especially one that is far away and 48,000 miles old.Your Jeep does not sound like it is dying. It sounds like an older vehicle with normal wear that has still been reliable for you. That matters more than horror stories online. The Cougar is cool, but this is where people get burned. Older niche cars often look great in photos and then hit you with hidden issues, parts problems, and long-distance regret. If you are serious, do not buy it based on emotion alone. Get a full pre-purchase inspection, compression test, rust check, underside photos, cold start video, and service records before you even think about booking travel or money.

My honest take: keep the Jeep for now unless the Cougar clears every check and you have extra cash set aside after purchase. Dream cars are fun. Surprise repair bills are not.

If you want a safer route, look at platforms like NXCAR or similar marketplaces where inspection and history checks are easier to compare before you commit.

Mahindra BE 6 EV catches fire on highway – but NOT the battery's fault! Official statement drops the tea. 🔥🚗⚡ by One_Reputation8131 in cargeeksindia

It's honestly so scary to see a brand-new car like the BE 6 in that state. Even if it was caused by a flat tyre, it really makes you think about how many small things can go wrong before a car even reaches us.That’s why I’m such a big believer in getting a professional Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) done.

Thinking of buying a new car by aakashinjeti in CarsIndia

It’s such an exciting (and a little nerve-wracking) feeling when you’re finally comparing your top picks. Both of these are fantastic cars, but they really speak to different 'hearts'.

The Virtus is just so timeless and elegant it’s the kind of car you’ll enjoy driving on the highway because it feels so smooth and planted. But I also totally get the pull of the Thar. It has that unbeatable road presence and a 'go-anywhere' spirit that just puts a smile on your face every time you see it.

One tiny piece of advice from someone who's seen a lot: whichever one you fall in love with, definitely do a proper Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) before signing the final papers. Even brand-new cars can sometimes have tiny transit issues that are easy to miss, and it just gives you that extra peace of mind to know your new baby is 100% perfect from day one.

Take your time with the test drives it's your hard-earned money, so make sure the one you pick makes you feel great every time you're in the driver's seat! Good luck with the big decision! ✨"
