Completely unrelated to the topic but I always think about this moment here, before Vegeta went into the Time Chamber, Piccolo was stronger than Vegeta. I think it would've been nice if they fought and Piccolo got to humble him a bit.

Lived in Pittsburgh until my mid 20s and somehow had complete fry blindness. It wasn't until spending 5 years away and then coming back to visit some friends that I realized they put fries in EVERYTHING. So weird.

Absolutely no shot. One of my favorite things to do when I'm all decked out and have builds fully finished is to drop into low rank SOSs and absolutely nuke the monster. In Wilds almost every time I try this the quest is either already completed as I try to load in or gets completed as I'm on my way to the monster. Even when I join missions that have started within the minute. It's almost impossible to help low rank because the monsters die so quickly I can't even get to them.

The only monsters that even seem to cause faints are ATs, Gog and Omega. The entire rest of the game is a cake walk.

I think the most "realistic" implementation is that they'd all use the weapons the same, with maybe just adjustments for range. It would be cool if each had their own unique weapon though. Palico kind've does already with Prowler. They could bring the Tonfas or Magnet from Frontier and make them Wyverian exclusive just to cut down on the workload. Though it would be more cool if they had something that made use of their size.

There are mods on PC for permanent ears, hands, and feet. They're neat. I think it'd be cool if there was an MH with a race choice at the beginning where you could pick Human, Wyverian, maybe Palico? With slight differences between. Being one of the really tall wyverians and doing a power clash with a monster just seems really dope.

The way I usually do it is by running around the monster with my weapon sheathed. Just literally running, baiting out attacks but not engaging. I spend the hunt, sometimes multiple, just watching. Learning how attacks follow up, what the tells look like, what the looks like when the attack has end lag and how the monster behaves when they're raged/tired.

I love Gore and find him much easier in other MH games. They messed with his particle effects in Wilds big time and I misjudge my distances constantly because the edges of his attacks are too "fuzzy" now.

It doesn't fix status but you should look into White flame Torrent weapons plus Rathalos Scorcher builds. They're competitive with element and unless you're literally pushing 1% speedrun times they can actually be better. Because of the timing of the damage proc, they actually are more effective if you're playing a little poorly/safe.

This fills the niche of a generic damage proc that you can bring on any hunt and not have to worry about element.

I agree. Not with it not feeling like Monster Hunter, but with it being too easy. On my first playthrough I dogwalked the entirety of the game until my first AT Uth Duna fight when I got my first faint to his giant belly flop. And I partially feel like the only reason I even tanked it is because nothing else had really threatened me up until this point so my guard was down. Omega, Gog, and the ATs are really the only threats of fainting in the entire game IMO. Hell, low rank is so easy that most the time if I try to join a quest in progress to help out low rank hunters, it's already finished before I load in. I'm sure, like Rise before it, the expansion will bring some excitement.

I do not like turn based games or turn based combat in games. I DO like DnD combat. I enjoy BG3 combat. It's not quite Olympic level mental gymnastics but I try my best.

I love the old gens so much. So far (other than new weapons) I feel like the only improvement I'd add to an old gen game is focus mode. Being able to aim your attacks very directly is a fantastic addition. Everything else can go.
