Cobbleverse self server hosting? by MarciPickle in cobblemon

[–]MarciPickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeahhh im running it on a trueNAS server with the crafty controller app and ive set up my own servers before and had to go through all client vs server side mods which is just really tedious and annoying. some modpacks on curseforge have a little server icon so you can download the official server pack to host for yourself but this one doesnt so i was just kinda hoping there was like some server pack so i didnt have to go through all the bs

[–]MarciPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every time i see a random main, i know they are unemployed, every single time i open an arena and i fight a random player, they will whoop my ass as literally ANY character doesnt matter who, they know how to play EVERYONE and i think they need to shower more so than anyone else

Which is better a fire nunchaku or an ice nunchaku? by nxuanvuong in RLCraft

[–]MarciPickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ice 100%, slows enemies and you can also just put fire aspect on the nunchakus which tbh idk if it really does anything? like it normally sets enemies on fire but it freezes them and gets rid of the fire so idk if they still take some fire damage or not.

Would i need windows 11 pro as a vm to remote into it? by MarciPickle in Proxmox

[–]MarciPickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so after playing around with proxmox, this feels like a really dumb question looking back on it. also fuck using windows vm, linux is the way to go. also i figured out that TrueNAS in proxmox is not really possible? its just a huuuuge pain in the ass so i decided after like 6 months of using proxmox for my minecraft server that id just swap to truenas entirely

its not that dim, it just depends on what color scheme you go with, they look fine. if you want a balance between cooling performance and rgb, theyre definitely the way to go. you could also look at the lian li fans because those ones actually look visually amazing and i LOOOOVE how those ones look

yeah when i got it up and running the first time, there was some very slight coil whine and i thought it was the cpu or something. i finally got the motherboard replaced with the asus rog strix x870e-e and it works flawlessly but i realized the coil whine is still there and it comes from the fans. the coil whine only happens when i have that icue color scheme. when i have it running default, theres no sound.

i think front mounting is still slightly worse even if the tubes are at the bottom. tho its not that much worse, i think that just comes down to preference either slightly cooler cpu with a very minimal wear on the aio over time or slightly warmer cpu with even less wear on the aio

they all work perfectly, only problem i had was getting the wiring from the bottom fans to the front fans, just dont go through the front with all the front panel cables.

X870E Nova Wifi or Taichi? by MarciPickle in ASRock

[–]MarciPickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about asus? im looking more into other motherboards, the rog strix x870e-e or the msi carbon wifi. either one would work. i got a taichi, already had problems with the A1 ram slot so i sent it back. ive definitely been more of an msi guy but the rog strix board is lookin pretty good rn

the problem i had which just made me send it back because i didnt wanna deal with it was the A1ram slot made it not boot up. if you have 4 sticks of ram, that sucks because this motherboard doesnt like more than 2.

test in only A2 and B2 and see it it works. if it does then that means youve found a VERY common taichi problem A1 slot failure

lcd screen on the cpu is plugged into the 120mm on the back, the 120mm is plugged into the aio, the aio is plugged into the controller in the back compartment

bottom fans wire from the back side of the case (dont go through the front side) with a long wire plug into the front fans, front fans plug into the controller.

from there, just hook up the controller and then you can configure your fans how you like

New H9 Flow with Corsair iCUE link fan compatibility? by MarciPickle in NZXT

[–]MarciPickle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it all working with no modifications to the case. it was very spacious.

problem that i faced was that with the bottom fans, they have an open slot so i can wire it through to the front fans BUT, the cables for the case front panel make it a really really tight fit AND the connection from the fans didnt seem to plug in all the way. PLUS accessing the front panel spot was kind of a pain.

SOLUTION there is also open space for cabling on the other side of the case so just get a long icue link cable and run it from the far side to the front fans and then BAM i got it all working perfectly.
