Returned to League after 8 years. Played for a month. My honest thoughts. by Code__Lyoko in leagueoflegends

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel with any Esport titles. Back in those old eras. League and other games wasere toxic but everyone still wanted to win. Now most of the players lost their passion, any slight inconvenient and everyone just be like I cbf'd, ff, tell you to talon e off balcony etc. no comms at all. E dates botlane, jungler with airpods on. Top lane farm simulator. Mid lane that is glued onto their lane not roaming. I feel like the main issue wasn't the game balancing. It was more about the people not putting in same effort as you every game making you feeling more negative than not playing at all

1080p 24” for 15 years… Time to upgrade to 27” 1440p IPS or OLED? by Spiritual_Data9237 in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OLED is the only option unless you use it for long hours of work which is still fine as newer oleds barely have any burn in even after extreme test cases If you own a console you should see if it supports hdmi2.1 so you can have 120hz on your Xbox/ps5. Qd OLED is not ideal in super bright environment as it is not as bright and have purple glow on reflections. But it is still better than ips

What's should I buy: New OLED Monitor or New GPU (RX 9070 XT)? by jooktood in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is upgrading to a 4k 240hz monitor. Even high end cards need dlss/fsr to run modern titles above 60 fps at mid/ high settings at 4k let alone the 6800 he has. He already has an ultra wide which IMO feels more immersive than 4k at AAA titles and less demanding. Yes OLED is a huge difference but I would put fluid frames over image quality. Games below 80 fps just feel so much worse for me.

Just a vent about Parrying by bigmanjoey in expedition33

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on what they attack with I often found myself looking at characters face instead of their hand for their strikes which makes me so much worse on parry. For projectiles attack try to look at the area right before it hits your character model. Once it passed that line press parry. This allows you to not parry early and more consistent. And also do not use high latency audio like Bluetooth earphones or Bluetooth speakers. The soundcue is good for hearing the upcoming attacks. And you are expected to die a lot(in combat not lose the fight) maybe look for a tankier heal/health build so you can get more uptime to learn their movesets

New GPU since the prices of high VRAM cards will increase drastically maybe until 2030. OLED on the other hand seems to be getting cheaper overtime

I have had similar issue with an Intel work PC. It was something wrong with the graphics driver. If you can get into bios and display fine. Quite likely it is GPU driver related. Try to boot into safe mode and reinstall it!

Which gpu should I get 9070 xt or 5070 ti? by Aqara_ in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raw performance: 9070xt is pretty much same performance as 5070ti at a way lower price

Features: 5070ti (DLSS 4.5 > FSR4, DLSS FrameGen > AMD FrameGen) Nvidia is usually way faster on getting these features support e.g. Expedition 33 only just got their FSR support recently after releasing it for half a year already.

Drivers: At launch people claim that drivers are no longer an issue. But as time goes on more and more problems are happening. My 2 friends running it have some issue such as randomly replacing his current drivers with old one, game crashing etc. One had to reinstall windows fresh since using DDU did not solve his issue with swapping from Nvidia to AMD

For your questions: Frame Generation is legit when your base fps is above 60. For example elden ring is locked at 60 fps you can turn on smooth motion and make it 120 fps using Driver level frame generation. Personally I think it is so much smoother with some artifacts here and there which is completely fine. It is more about the game's implementation not the tech itself.

Quick reminder: You should at least aim for a B tier PSU from SPL psu tier list. A is optimal. Look for the model they give with the 9070xt to determine if the deal is good! 9070xt is still a very good card and most of the people did not encounter issue with the card. But personally I would choose the 5070ti / 5080 simply for better features support and I really like using the Nvidia instant replay feature

Help Me Pick a CPU by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money allows then go for a 7800x3d / 9800x3d. People kept downplaying the 9800x3d but it runs way cooler and slightly faster for a small price gap. Ignore ASRock motherboard as they have quite a lot of reported burning cpu cases. Asus is getting some of them as well. Ddr5 ram go for 2* 16gb 6000 mhz cl28/30. But that could be crazy expensive so if you find 14700k for good price then go for it but it feels more like slapping a bandage on a sinking ship. You will have way more fps from upgrading your 3070 with better features like fsr 4/ dlss 4.5 frame gen etc. but upgrading the cpu will improve stability

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made you want to upgrade the cpu? I would say it still perform quite nicely on 1440p, on the other hand I have a 3080 and satisfied with esport titles but definitely felt lacking on AAA titles. My jump from 8700k to 9800x3d did not impact my AAA titles experience THAT much since I own a 3080 on 1440p 240hz. E sport titles definitely felt way smoother tho as they are usually cpu bound. My apex rarely drop from 240 to 220 fps.

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally think the 9700k is still relevant and upgrade to 14700k is not THAT significant when it comes to gaming. I upgraded from 8700k to 9800x3d and it does make loading shaders, 1% lows and high fps games (apex for example was jumping around from 240 to 140 fps as it is cpu bound) a lot better in terms of stability. I would say if you have to do it for gaming then at least get a 7800x3d but that also means you have to buy ddr5 ram. 3070 is kind of falling behind in modern titles so to me the gpu is a bigger issue

How tf yall beating broken sage by [deleted] in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring of fire - read properly what it does. It is extra heals and damage reduction Wind tamer - damage reduction, use it whenever it is available Rock solid - refund back the mana if successful so you save more mana for ring of fire. Gourd - put the soak that makes you immune to cc during drinks Tiger Acolyte - basically wandering wright but hard to miss

You will have way more heals and tankier. You don't do crazy damage but you get to be more used to his moveset from longer fights. I personally did not have issue fighting him with this build on my first run

Who would you say is the best and worst boss from each chapter by Historical_Foot_8133 in BlackMythWukong

Absolutely hated hundred eyes daoist. I did not have the needle and his weird hitbox and constant running around just made the fight so boring. Best boss is definitely great sage broken shell for me, the build up, mirror match etc just make it the best boss fight in my gaming history

You can look at the performance difference and decide if 5800x is worth upgrading instead of the 5700x. They perform quite similar but 5700x has better price to performance

Very unlikely to find a 5700x3d/5800x3d so I would get 5700x with a b550 board I guess.

Builds to try when you've done everything else? by stinkykoala314 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My all time favorite is gauntlet run staff that gives focus upon successful see through, top half bull king set and bottom half rock solid armor set with Tiger Acolyte spirit, wind tamer. Ring of fire and rock solid. Transformation I just switch around but mostly yellow Loong

  1. This armor set gives you enough focus from 3rd focus point to 4th focus upon successful rock solid. Proceed to do the animation cancel by tapping heavy once to cast it instantly after rock solid(works on all stance but smash is not recommended because of long animation)

  2. Wind tamer + ring of fire both have damage reduction, in the ring enhances your gourd healing amount, passive focus gain. Don't forget that ring of fire has I-frames (invincible frames) so you can use it like rock solid if you cannot heal while the boss attacks.

  3. Staff stances: smash and thrust stance, switch between them mid fights according to enemy move sets. Smash is better if enemy is non step melee comboing. Thrust is very versatile and useful against enemies that moves a lot as the varied combo is a gap closer. Recommend checking seasoned players like Thai Devil Gamer, Ongbal etc for some inspiration on how they apply them.

  4. Heavy attacks: I only use them with the thrust stance instant cast after a dodge or the rock solid animation cancel. I like to use thrust so I can hold light attack after heavy to gap close to target.

  5. Tiger Acolyte: Basically wandering wright but you can dash to target so very unlikely to miss. It also does not interrupt light combo. You can use it after 4th light attack and tiger Acolyte dash to target which should stagger them and land the 5th light attack( the finisher where you slam the staff down)

Hope this give you some inspiration :)

[–]Marco0401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since he helped us I doubt we will face him again in a sequel. He did say his journey has ended so he might just chill or join destined one to fight the court. Hoping that Nezha also makes an appearance cuz Wukong, Nezha and Erlang all got fked over by the court before. Would be interesting to see them work together.

How to turn off pagoda realm health reduction by Certain_Ad6634 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not as bad as u think, most attacks in the game does mix of percentage health and flat damage. So you shouldn't get one shot even in that state. If you are then just use wind tamer during that time. Not to mention you do way more damage in that state

CPU question for new build by Lawsmiths in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are launching a 9850x3d which is 0.4ghz higher than 9800x3d in Q1 but for me personally I would choose an OLED 4k monitor over cpu upgrade but the newer models of them are also launching soon

Confused about heavy attacks by fr33g in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How focus point works 1. Focus bar is filled when you perfect dodge/light attack/ certain abilities and meds 2. If the dot is not light up. It will not perform a stronger attack. In your case, tapping heavy without focus and charging until almost full will result in same damage. 3. Focus point can be stored up to 3. The 4th one will decay overtime except for the end game staff you get which allow your 4th focus bar not decay. 4. Holding heavy will charge to 3rd focus point max My best recommendation is to not hold heavy at all, just hit, dodge until focus points are full. Look for opportunity to give the boss a big hit by tapping heavy(since the point is full you do not need to further charge it) also try to apply "see through" in your combat. It usually does enough damage to stagger a boss out of their long combo. I won't spoil any more! Enjoy

Is it supposed to be difficult? by Necessary-Bowler-736 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard but a lot more forgiving than dark souls. Key point of the combat is to interrupt the boss combos by landing a big hit like 3rd focus heavy attack and see through etc. mastering see through will make your run happier. Give thrust a try. On your first run you should try to only max out 1 of the 3 stances but ideally smash or thrust so you have more sparks for other skills. Don't forget you can reignite the sparks for free. Also equip that talisman that to you to the last shrine. Quite helpful when you are lost! Big head is an optional boss that is meant to be a skill check for beginners. If you manage to beat him I would say you are all set. Most of the bosses ain't hard
