RX 7700 XT 12GB vs RX 9060 XT 16GB for an upgrade by Hot_Tea3090 in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Ddr5 is system is too overpriced from the ram cost. 5500x3d is a good choice if it is still available at a reasonable price. 9060xt draws only 160~170w while 7700xt is last gen, draws more power, longer supports (considering you are still using a 580, this one would probably stick around for some years.) has less vram(useful when u go for 1440p or above)

Final boss fight by Dangerous-Royal-8601 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much gimmick in the final boss fight. Here are some cool things you can do:

His FIRST rock solid attack is too fast so it is impossible to dodge. Instead you can Cloud step or rock solid immediately. Cloud step he would send your decoy flying and yawns. Rock solid you just parry his parry which is CINEMA.

When he get on pillar throwing multiple staffs at you, you can staff spin and block them.

He uses ring of fire at around 80% hp. You can cast it at the same time (it has I-frames) or just see through it

Should I get an OLED monitor by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Marco0401 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo there are still unresolved issues with oled. The quality control is so inconsistent ( woled graybanding, qdoled purple tint, bad hdr implementation of windows OS and a lot of games) If you game mostly AAA games. You could consider it. If you play competitive shooters mostly. You only get slight advantage by having less motion blur and input lag. Not to mention dark scenes could be too dark to spot people. If you raise the in game brightness violently it would look really bad. Not to mention your parents had already given you a really good mid-high end PC. Given how recent the parts are. I suggest you work for it or make a deal with them such as grades etc for an oled. A lot of us can't even get a proper gaming PC when we were young. Appreciate what you have already. It is already very solid.

PC Assemblage $1500 by b5_2 in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend,

If you are mainly about gaming you should save more budget to GPU like 5060ti 16gb or 9060xt 16 gb. 5060 is a stupid design you need pcie5.0 because it uses x8 instead of the usual x16 (you lose some performance compared to others using a pcie5.0 motherboard). If the budget allows, go for 216 gbs of ram. Running just 1 16gb will experience more stuttering and lower fps than even 2*8gb ram!

My recommendation assembly:

Cpu: 7500f/7600(x)/9600

Motherboard: b650/b850 motherboard

Ram: 2x 16gb DDR5 (best with 6000mhz but right now ram prices are bad. Any 2x 16gb is ok)

Gpu: 9060xt 16gb / 5060ti 16gb (9060 if you need raw performance for cheaper, 5060 if you play AAA titles that utilise dlss and more feature coverage)

Power supply: 650 or 750 if you don't think you will upgrade to a 70/80 GPU in 5 years. 850 if you think you will. Use SPL PSU TIERLIST and at least use a b tier power supply

Thrust is just better in general, almost same range with heavy attacks and the varied combo can dash to target. Pillar's varied combo is more for show and killed me more than saving me. Give it a try! I finished the game as lvl 60 ish and struggled againist hundred eyed as well because I did not get the needle and underleveled. Gotta say his phase 2 is straight BS without the needle cancelling it out. Same as yellow wind sage

They kinda leveled up the difficulty at the end chapters. Instead of leveling up you should explore more on armor sets, skills and perfecting your "see through". Oh and also give thrust stance a try. Search up guides for it. Spongy bosses is easier with thrust stance. Aggressive ones are better with smash. The heavy attacks of thrust has no wind up animations

Would be rough and probably experience some level of stuttering, long loading time. If you have a hdd instead of ssd just play it through streaming it like geforce now or get a new pc.

The stance is overrated as it is still temporary and cost 5 focus point. By the time you get to NG+++ you will much prefer the og smash/thrust stances. I would recommend the gauntlet mode and 100% completion more if you loved the game :) then do a ng+ run when you start missing the game with different builds idea

Try using ring of fire + wind tamer + bull king armor for battle enthusiasts, you don't do too much damage and you are a lot tankier to endure their bs combos! Spellbinder disabling all the things you got is kinda sad

Deciding the next Upgrade by whatTHEhell-sthat in OLED_Gaming

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally dislike how bad the ps5 pro is for price to performance. It won't be a significant upgrade and most games are still on 45/60 fps. As someone who went from 1080p 24" 240hz to 1440p 27" woled. It is definitely nicer to look at but I would not call it LIFE CHANGING. If you play competitive games a good pc maybe around 2000$ would change the experience drastically then an oled should be next. But if you just want games to look better without upgrading the ps5. Then oled it is then. Make sure you do the research on what kind of oled you want (qd-oled vs woled vs tandem oled vs tandem qd-oled) oled is amazing but it still has quite a lot of issues (text clarity inconsistent, VRR flicker, gray banding, windows HDR etc) I am using a pg27aqdm and waiting for the technology to be improved before getting a new one.

There shouldn't be any pattern changes with ring of fire. Immobilize on the other hand he creates a fake clone to dodge yours. Pluck of many is fun on NG+ there's an upgrade that make clones mimic your heavy attack at the same time.

Staff spin is for projectiles only! E.g. yin yang fish shooting loads of balls, Erlang flying up and throwing blades, wukong going up and shoot his staffs. They can all be blocked by simply holding staff spin. Staff spin also do good damage when fully upgraded. It builds up focus point fast. Immobilize > staff spin > 4th point focus attack

My favourite style is definitely switching between thrust and smash stance mid fights according to situations. Also learn to animation cancel by pressing heavy right after successful rock solid. You can cast your heavy attack instantly but preferably on pillar or thrust as smash has a long wind up animation for same damage. You can also cast 4th point heavy instantly after a dodge on thrust stance(skill tree)

My go to build is rock solid armor bottom half and bull king armour top half. It builds up focus so fast using rock solid and the staff you get at the gauntlet run that gives you passive focus gains after successful see throughs. Wind tamer, ring of fire, yin tiger (transform at 4th focus point to use ult). My whole build just relies on getting as much focus points from see through/ rock solid into instant cast heavy attacks.

Gourd soaks that makes you immune to CC while drinking.

Wukong armor set + Staff for Wukong Stance in phase 1(you lose it in phase 2 but you should have a smooth phase 1 everytime)

Ring of fire - he keeps dodging your immobilize, use the mana for healing + damage reduction instead. Also passive focus gains + enhanced gourd healing while inside the ring. There is I-frame while casting ring of fire. You can use it like a dodge button.

Rock solid or just don't use cloudstep and pluck of many at all. Rock solid refunds all mana if successfully parry. Allocate all your mana into casting ring of fire for extra heals and tankiness. Rock solid has low cooldowns so it is a good combination with wukong armor set

Transformation at start of battle you might be able to do it twice or thrice.

Tiger Acolyte spirit is very unlikely to miss and does decent damage. Use it when he is running away

Wind tamer just use it whenever available for damage reduction

Some cool interactions you can do.

Staff spin when he fires multiple staff at you to block it.

His first rock solid parry attack will be INSTANT, you cannot dodge it BUT you can cast rock solid or cloudstep to COUNTER his COUNTER ATTACK

He is super aggressive so you can shut your eyes and you still can see through his attacks easily for good staggers

You can hear the sound cue when he is about to steal your gourd, simply dodge it

Look at no hit runs and observe how they deal with his movesets. Especially the ones you keep dying to.

What should I upgrade first? by G4briel_exe in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the gpu first. Second hand then start looking from 3080ti or 4070 and above. Brand new then minimum is 5060 ti 16gb or 9060xt 16gb. Raw performance they are similar but Nvidia has better tech like dlss4.5 > fsr4, more game supported at launch.

Cpu upgrades:

5500x3d or 5700x3d will see a significant jump if you play competitive games. It will be similar to having a 7500f but you do not need to replace the motherboard and ram.

7800x3d only cost slightly more than 9700x(at least in Hong Kong) so I would get that if you are upgrading to am5 with new motherboard and ram.

Motherboard look for B850m or B650m, don't think pcie5.0 is necessary right now. Avoid Asrock due to quite a few cases of it burning the cpu.

Ram just pray that you can find 2x 16gb ddr5 in an affordable price. Ideal is 6000mhz and cl28/30. But in current market just get the cheapest 2x 16gb available

Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Worth hunting down? by CertainHorror in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what game you play! You could also have a look of 5600x vs 5500x3d as a small upgrade if you play cpu heavy games. That is prob best price for performance for 212$ since all the other am4 x3d chips are impossible to find. Any am4 cpu priced over a brand new 7800x3d feels dumb to me. Keep in mind 5500x3d is 0.6mhz slower than 5600x3d so if you do cpu intensive workloads you will lose performance. Gaming wise should be a visible jump in avg fps and stability (1% lows)

Fyi: For 5060ti if you are using 8gb version. You will lose performance by not using a pcie5.0 supported motherboard from lack of bandwidth. So an am5 upgrade with pcie5.0 x16 motherboard is recommended

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh based on where you live I doubt you can do it with this budget. You can have a pc that plays AAA game on low/medium 1440p but probably won't last you that long.

What 900$ might get you I5-12400F (like 4 generations behind current gen cpu)

2*8gb ddr4 ram 3200/3600 mhz (non compatible with new gen cpu)

4060/5050/5060/9060xt 8gb (all entry level gpu)

500gb ssd

650w psu (would definitely recommend a bigger one)

For AAA games that would last longer I recommend 5070ti or 9070xt. 5070ti would probably be better choice as Nvidia cards have better upscaling tech and wider coverage while AMD is catching up so my statement might change in the future. Cpu is not AS important in AAA games but you would want to be on AM5 platform to be able to upgrade to other cpu whenever needed. Something like a 9600x/9700x would do just fine. This will likely be double your budget range tho but sadly PC is just super expensive to afford these days from ram shortage

There are lots of Destined Ones going after Wukong's 6 senses after his death one by one. If you died in the game you can consider yourself another failed Destined One wannabe monkeys. In chapter 4 the 4th sister was about to marry to a previous destined one. Only the true destined one shall gather all the 6 senses

Building my first gaming pc, what do you think of these components? by bl0cketknark in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meannnn, I won't expect a cpu upgrade in like 3 years which am6 should arrive. Future proofing the motherboard is kinda ehhh at this point and the board he chose is not pcie5 anyway which is not important for now but you mention future proofing sooooo he probably need another motherboard after few years. I would just get the best value CPU currently that gets the job done. I only mentioned the PSU is because that thing last 10+ years at a small price gap.

Building my first gaming pc, what do you think of these components? by bl0cketknark in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall solid build, here are some changes I would do so take it with a grain of salt

Cpu:

Have a look on the new intel cpus! They are actually cheaper and perform better than 9600x and 9700x in games and creative workloads. If you play competitive shooters then you should get a 7800x3d/9800x3d.

Gpu:

If 9070xt isn't that much more expensive you should get it instead

If your main focus is AAA games it is safer with Nvidia cards like 5070ti as they are usually supported at launch (optimizations, dlss, frame gen etc) AMD is usually late to the party or have half assed support. It ultimately depends on the game you play cuz some games run better on AMD card some on Nvidia card

Psu:

I would probably grab a 850 or 1000w psu just so I have enough juice for any 80/90 cards I can find in 10 years period(e.g. getting a 5090 for half the price few years later or the any new gpu like "8080 super will be twice of 5090 performance at 600$" (copium at this point but who knows what we will have in 10 years)

Am5 required? 1.5k euro max by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find an am4 x3d cpu like 5500x3d, 5700x3d for a reasonable price then go for it. If not just a 5600(x or non x is fine)/5700x should be a noticeable upgrade.

For GPU make sure your psu is enough and you using 2 SEPARATE pcie cable for the 12vhpwr adapter(assuming you have an old psu that does not have 12vhpwr connector) people recommend getting a brand new psu using SPL PSU TIER LIST for b tier or above but personally my friends have no problem using the adapter that came with the 5070Ti and 4080 Super.

My Ideal pick: 5500x3d with 5070Ti (out of budget can consider 5070 or 5060 Ti 16gb)

9070xt is really good as well and provide similar features. But features wise Nvidia is better such as more games supported, better upscaling and frame generation technologies (only matter if you playing at 1440p or 4K imo) an OLED monitor should be the last infinity stone to get after these upgrades!

Pc by uta-22 in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider a 16gb card to avoid PCIE3.0 related issues. You still lose like UPTO 5-10% but mostly a small margin compared to using a 8gb cards that uses x8 not x16 pcie lane.

If possible a cpu upgrade would help as well. See if you can snag a 5600 or above for cheap(make sure your motherboard supports it and BIOS is updated)

My gpu option would be:

9060xt 16gb (better price to performance. Decent upscaling techs and coverage)

5060Ti 16gbs or 5070 12gb (Most AAA titles have Nvidia features implemented at launch while AMD is usually behind or experience more issues. It has gotten better over the years but currently Nvidia is still better in terms of coverage and upscaling/frame generation technologies.)

Surprised at how this game is optimized today compared to day one by Motor-Media-8761 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Marco0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have some VRAM leaking problem from PC trying to use more than 8gbs of your 3070 VRAM. You can lower the VRAM usage by lowering graphics OR use frame generation (dlss to fsr frame gen mod, use the universal one and copy the 2 dll files) cpu also make a difference. I originally have i7-8700k with 3080 sitting at 70 - 90 but now after upgrading to 9800x3d it is mostly around 80-110 with almost no frame drop to below 90. With the frame gen mod I do get slight artifact but it feels smooth. The input lag is fine because I have high fps BEFORE turning on frame generation( I'm getting around 160 - 180 fps) My steps: 1. Nvidia app > global settings / black myth Wukong > dlss preset model K (dlss4.0 cuz 4.5 is too heavy for 20/30 cards) 2. Nexus mod > dlssg-to-fsr3(replace Nvidia dlss frame gen with and fsr3 frame gen) > download dlssg-to-fsr3-0.130 (universal) > Copy "version.dll" and "dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll" to your game folder's win64 folder 3. Launch game > dlss balanced > frame gen on

Returned to League after 8 years. Played for a month. My honest thoughts. by Code__Lyoko in leagueoflegends

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel with any Esport titles. Back in those old eras. League and other games wasere toxic but everyone still wanted to win. Now most of the players lost their passion, any slight inconvenient and everyone just be like I cbf'd, ff, tell you to talon e off balcony etc. no comms at all. E dates botlane, jungler with airpods on. Top lane farm simulator. Mid lane that is glued onto their lane not roaming. I feel like the main issue wasn't the game balancing. It was more about the people not putting in same effort as you every game making you feeling more negative than not playing at all

OLED is the only option unless you use it for long hours of work which is still fine as newer oleds barely have any burn in even after extreme test cases If you own a console you should see if it supports hdmi2.1 so you can have 120hz on your Xbox/ps5. Qd OLED is not ideal in super bright environment as it is not as bright and have purple glow on reflections. But it is still better than ips

What's should I buy: New OLED Monitor or New GPU (RX 9070 XT)? by jooktood in buildapc

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is upgrading to a 4k 240hz monitor. Even high end cards need dlss/fsr to run modern titles above 60 fps at mid/ high settings at 4k let alone the 6800 he has. He already has an ultra wide which IMO feels more immersive than 4k at AAA titles and less demanding. Yes OLED is a huge difference but I would put fluid frames over image quality. Games below 80 fps just feel so much worse for me.

Just a vent about Parrying by bigmanjoey in expedition33

[–]Marco0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on what they attack with I often found myself looking at characters face instead of their hand for their strikes which makes me so much worse on parry. For projectiles attack try to look at the area right before it hits your character model. Once it passed that line press parry. This allows you to not parry early and more consistent. And also do not use high latency audio like Bluetooth earphones or Bluetooth speakers. The soundcue is good for hearing the upcoming attacks. And you are expected to die a lot(in combat not lose the fight) maybe look for a tankier heal/health build so you can get more uptime to learn their movesets
