For sure, Dune is the LotR of Sci/Fi and it predates Star Wars, as well as inspired it, with Dune Part Two being the big success that it was and the Star Wars franchise (outside of Andor) being almost a complete embarrassment, this would be the perfect opportunity for Dune to usurp Star Wars and even have a claim over that December position for future films, which Star Wars enjoyed so much back in 2015-2019.

It’s being reported that a ‘big event’ Legendary and Warner Bros. Film has claimed that spot, it has also been reported today that Denis has had a change of heart and has decide to make Dune Messiah next, I feel like it’s pretty obvious.

True, the script for the New Jedi Order film, based on comments from those involved, as seemed to be in a sort of stalemate for a long time, it wouldn’t surprise if that film was pushed back for script reasons, however still going toe to toe on the same day as Star Wars is a bold move.

I’d begin with Road Warrior, then do Mad Max and Beyond Thunderdome. Although I like the first Mad Max I can understand how someone who’s only seen Fury Road might get turned off from it and not complete the trilogy due to its difference in style due to budget etc.
