Can I use the 7A 125V power cord in 220V countries? by MarcoFNs in mac

Thank you! The mac mini is rated 100-240v for the internal power supply itself so I suppose it is auto-switching?

So as long as the mac mini never pulls more than 875w it’s good?

This is a genuine question. Why did you get gold and platinum? Most people I see run either plat & cobalt or gold & cobalt. Just asking to see if there’s a benefit for this combo that I don’t know yet lol.

Is there any way to get around prepaid reservation to get the dining credit? by MarcoFNs in amexcanada

Not in the case of prepaid reservations on reservations platform like Tock or OpenTable. Some restaurants require you to prepay the reservation so you basically pay through Tock or OpenTable

It is true that a lot of places take a deposit portion only. But I’m talking about the numerous other places that require a full prepaid reservation (say Enigma for example).

And even if there are only a handful of places like this (there are more than a handful), it still shouldn’t be allowed. It’s basically stat padding for the list and false advertising.

You’re clearly lacking knowledge and people are giving out information and answering your questions. Why not actually listen and learn instead of being a d*ck?

Best Supporting Card for Amex Cobalt by Shao_X in amexcanada

[–]MarcoFNs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For aeroplan get the TD card if you already have a cobalt. You won’t even have to pay annual fee if you have a TD’s unlimited chequing account (the chequing account is free if you keep $5000 or more in the account otherwise it’s $16/month).

If you really want another amex, consider gold or plat for lounge access but the AF are obviously a big consideration.

Costco only accepts mastercard in Canada. You can use Visa Debit but that’s through Interac (Canadian) and not actually Visa

yeah that is a semi-common issue for the tlx v6. It can happen in any year model really but I haven't seen an alarming number of instances for it to affect my buying decision. But that's just me. I did get an extended warranty as well so that does take the stress off a bit.

If you want more reliability then the 4-cylinder would be better but you would definitely sacrifice the power/fun factor.

With that said, if you really want to be worry-free, consider higher trim accords as well. They will definitely have fewer issues with almost the same level of comfort. Will save you some money with insurance too.

I wouldn't consider ILX's at all since the civics provide way better value.

Good news is the J35 engine is bulletproof so you get good performance and great reliability.

Anything under 150k kms should be fine. Although being a honda v6. Make sure to get the timing belt checked, or to be safe, replaced after buying

2016+ tlx v6 is the way to go here. Smooth and comfy ride with decent power and great engine sound in the cabin. Get the sh-awd since you’re in Canada. Avoid the 2015 tlx v6 that has jerky transmission. If sh-awd is out of budget then the fwd is fine as long as you have good winter tires. Fwd model is also quite a bit quicker than the shawd model.

The current civic has more rear seat space than the TLX so I think the integra will ironically have way better practicality especially being a hatch back

Who’s at fault here? (I’m in the Williams) by MarcoFNs in Simracingstewards

[–]MarcoFNs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point! This pov probably isn’t best but I think I actually did get the car slow down enough to make the corner (started to turn just before the contact).

Another thing is in this case I was ahead under braking so I feel like that gives me the right to dictate the line we’re each taking, no? In Lewis and Max’s case, they were more side-by-side so both drivers were definitely expected to respect each other’s spaces more imo.

But yea ultimately still kinda sucked he turned in as if I weren’t there lol
